New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

the fact that disney can’t figure out how to run a sports bar when they own the ESPN brand is a huge issue.
I say repeatedly that Disney could have owned the biggest sports bar chain, the biggest themed retail chain, the biggest children's entertainment zone chain (Club Disney), the biggest family arcade/brand experience chain (DisneyQuest), and quite a few others, had Eisner in particular given things more time. And I mean it. ESPN Zone should be in every major city in the US a few times over (even if you remove the studio elements). No reason why that should have been left to wither and die.

You would need a mechanism for ordering. You need to order to go packing, condiment packaging, have staff at the restaurants now working on packaging to go orders vs in house orders. Then you need staff doing the actual deliveries of the food, and you will have increased room service/cleaning costs to take care of the clean up, either in the rooms, or the hallways now full of have eaten trays of food/stuff. Then multiply that through all the deluxe resorts

Now would it be a huge expenditure, based on the total budget for WDW resort hotels? I can't really say. Would it be a positive return on the investment to do it...personal opinion i don't think it would.
I’m sorry but to me these are just excuses. None of this is that big of a deal. They could offer it pretty easily. And at their price point they should. If you’re paying $750 a night to stay at Boardwalk you darn sure should be able to get food without leaving your room if you so choose.

They can certainly afford to staff properly and outfit the app appropriately with a deliver to room option. It’s not that
difficult
I can't see offering room service costing a "ton of resources" for resorts that already have onsite restaurants. Literally just put some of the menu items from the QS or TS restaurant on it and hire 1 or 2 delivery people near minimum wage based on demand
Exactly. At the price point of Disney resorts room service should just be a given offering. It’s not that big of expensive of a deal honestly.

oh you're the one.... lol
I don't know that the interior is worth a $22 slice of cake... It is nice and Girly... but other than glitter dusted treats and some fussy details, it just feels like a money-grab
If I’m just paying for decor, I can walk in take a pic and leave. No need to spend money eating there.

It's not excuses, its reasons NOT to offer it.

You don't as a business decide to spend money simply because, or because you COULD. Its WDW, with there size/capital they COULD pretty much do whatever they want.

There needs to be a business REASON to bring in a new service. No one cares what you think a person should/shouldn't be able to do at a hotel. They care what there customer base/potential new customer base as a whole is actually using/saying is lacking. The only reasons to add room service to hotel for WDW would be in line with one of the following:

1. New Customers would Stay at the boardwalk, as opposed to staying off property or staying at a lower price point hotel IF they offered room service.

2. People are not booking boardwalk in favor of other hotels the do offer room service.

3. Disney is loosing out on food sales because people who would want to order room service and eat in their room are leaving the bubble and picking up food to bring back to their room, or having third party services deliver food to them.

4. Existing quests would spend money on food that they normally wouldn't spend if they could get it delivered to their rooms.

That's really it. Oh and of course the ROI on the new/retained spend would have to be higher than the costs to implement of course.

Yes top grossing has a nice ring to it.

Did the movies actually make money is a different question.
Going off profits, they still had 4 out of the top 6, including the number one and 2. Dune Part 2 slid into the 3rd spot to break up the the top three showing from gross. So the answer while a different question is still, yes i would take those results

I don’t think Disney wouldn’t let Jellyrolls and the Art Gallery renew unless they had a reason or plan. I’m guessing the art gallery becomes the preview center allowing for a new space to take over Big River to Jellyrolls.

That new space will likely feature enough of a “dance floor” to allow them to finally close Atlantic dance.

Hopefully the new space will also fill the moderate dining options that the boardwalk has lost.

Time will tell!

Moderate dining? Pffft... Hot rumor I heard: There will be a sign out front, stating - "You must be this rich to eat here":

It’s not a new service - it’s a service that existed and was cut during Covid and never brought back.

Before Covid - all Disney resorts had either room service or at least pizza delivery offered.
Exactly. And Covid became a catch all excuse to eliminate things and cut costs. Almost 5 years later it’s time to bring them back.

I’m sorry I stand by my point, at Disney price points it’s totally reasonable to expect room service to be offered. That’s one of the key things that makes a resort higher end. They can’t just be deluxe in name and price only.
