You guys are really selling this…

Josh would be very disappointed…
You need to wear skintight pants and lie to peoples faces…and then hold Gotham city hostage for $1,000,000 😜
IMHO even if we take the cost out of it. FP+>LL>G+>Legacy FP>Standby only

However, I also understand from a business perspective the functional changes they had to make between LL and FP+ even if I am one of the people it hurt.

Fast pass was ingenious…everything since has been mongrelized

Fast pass was for good business reasons/sense…and maintained equality to the best the could for everyone through the gate. And it was a MATH based system.
Math don’t lie. Unless you’re Bob where all you do is lie about the math 🧮

What do you mean by it was a math based system? Aren't all the systems outside of LLPP math based systems?

I don’t. It was a much better system than what we now have.
Didn’t work for Disney…

Beyond the obvious cash grab now…putting those prebooked slots on everything caused all kinds of “efficiency gaps” every day that didn’t put people in the mood to spend…instead getting aggravated waiting on windows.

None of these things are perfect…but a pre booked 3 rides a day that allowed people to drive their scooter in at noon and leave at 3:30 wasn’t really good for them at all. This isn’t a hard concept to grasp

The OG fastpass accomplished the goals of the system with the least amount of angst impact overall…but had its flaws as well

Things I liked about the OG system was that it was free and with the paper fast pass we would go to the end of the standby queue and make magic for strangers by giving them our FPs we did not want to do.

Truly the good ol' days!

The best past of fastpass was it was a defined number of skits and set distribution pattern

So while maybe the fastpass might be gone early…you just knew the line would he a bit longer all day in standby…but it moved at a steady rate

You didn’t have all the computer controlled “quotas” they ground everything to a halt in the line

Well no one in our group drove a scooter (how insulting by the way) but we did often do other things like water parks, character breakfasts, resort hopping etc. and then get to the parks after noon. FP+ was great for that.

Arriving at the parks late morning and leaving at 3:30 to rest, shower and get ready for dinner at a resort also worked for us.

Reading different peoples trip reports many did similar. From a guest perspective FP+ and now LLMP work great as you can stroll in a noon, ride your 2-3 attractions and leave.

As many here overlook is the Disney side of it. The goal of the original FP was to give short waits so they would spend money between rides in shops or eating. Instead many guests didn't do that, instead they would wander the park waiting til their next return time.

With the paid version it's gotten worse. IMO is part of why the parks feel crowded. A lot of guests are just wandering the walkways waiting for the next return time.

We always found some type of show, AK trail, less popular ride or such to fill in the time.

But wandering around getting in the way works too.
