IP in WS doesn’t have to be bad, as long as it showcases those countries’ cultures. The problem is Disney hasn’t done that.
I do agree in a sense. My real issue with the IP thing is how the IP becomes more important than the topic of the pavilion. The way IP should be used at EPCOT was really how it was handled in Circle of Life because it actually handles it's topic head on. Since Nemo, The focus has shifted to where the IP is more important than the actual subject. Is the pavilion more about the Seas or Nemo?

NGL im happy about this, if they aren't gonna use it then demo it. Put a grassy tree filled hill to block the GOTG show building. Or my idea but the entrance to an EPCOT themed hotel here and build it behind World Discovery

I thought this IP worked pretty good.

The 3C Mexico overlay isn't terrible (but loved the original version too)...at least it showcases various Mexican sites c.2007 (& some footage of 3C 1944 was shot in Mexico, & film based, in-part, from on-site research by Disney artists)....

I always felt Three Caballeros as the "sequel" of sorts to Saludos Amigos (1942), where Jose was introduced as "created" by Disney artists during their 1941 "Goodwill tour" which, admittedly, concentrated on the South American continent. Three Caballeros opens with 2 (forgettable imo) shorts, re-introduces Jose with the Baia segment, but for the lion's share of the film he and Donald are given a flavor of Mexico by the Disney-created representative of Mexico Panchito. At that stage, Jose, like Donald, is "along for the (magic sarape) ride."

From everything I read, both films were very-well received by the respective cultures/countries that they represented (I know this can easily devolve into a political rabbit hole from here, but let's just say it was as good as anything produced by an American-based studio for that time; one objective with both the tour and the films was to have Latin America favor Allies over the Axis).

Again, the ride's not culturally "ideal" on many levels by any stretch, but certainly more correlated to Mexico overall than Olaf is to Norway.

The idea of Saludos Amigos was very important, though I honestly haven't read too much about it or seen the documentary yet.
"Saludos" is a chill movie and enjoyable period piece...hybrid of doc footage of the trip (some filmed by Walt), some restaged parts of the trip, and some shorts as "highlights" of the trip. Although considered feature-length at the time, film itself is only 42 minutes.

"Walt and El Groupo" does a great job detailing the trips behind "Saludos Amigos" & "Three Caballeros." My favorite part was the blending of various sites between 1941 & c.2008. It felt unexpectedly haunting at times. They were also able to interview some surviving individuals with connections to the 1941 trip. Well done (as was the book).
