Disneyland celebrates the country's 250th birthday in 2026

In the spirit of predicting, my two to throw in the ring:
  • I think this may be the first stateside Soarin' that doesn't end in the park. I think we're getting a Statue of Liberty fireworks finale with this one.
  • I think we'll inherit a version of Soaring Fantastic Flight's intro with a bald eagle instead of a falcon.
I'm curious if they'll go for CGI transitions or return to form with theatrical hard cuts. And maybe not a prediction, but I'd love for them to incorporate "Golden Dream" into the score somehow.

I read something about "soft transitions." This would seem to imply something new and not the hard cuts from California or the gimmicky CGI stuff from Around the World.

So what they are gonna use like wipe transitions from Power Point? lol

Haha. Looks like they're trying to give people a reason to renew in 2026. Also wouldn't be surprised if the 3 day So Cal tickets expire before the Smugglers Run missions debut. Although the date seems to be close on that one. I mean if you add LL's to the 3 day So Cal ticket you're almost at the cost of an Imagine Pass. hahah.

They did this just to make sure you don’t cancel your MKs ;)

I was on the fence, but this helped convince me to renew next year. 😅
Joke, but between this, any other celebration stuff they have planned, and the Mando update I think there is plenty "new" to do next year. :)

And while its a long shot there is still a potential for Infinity Defense and Stark's to open toward the end of next year as well.

While I’m looking forward to both of these they don’t really move the needle for me as I don’t think there is anything you could do to either of those attractions to make them highly repeatable for me. In addition to the core ride experience of these attractions leaving a bit to be desired I’m also considering other factors like location (in Smugglers Runs case) or the slow loader that is Soarin. Granted if the new footage is crisp/ clear and SAA is an updated version of SOC that could change my perception. They’re also just not high priority for anybody in the family. Again, that could change but I doubt it.

I think between SAA and the new Smugglers Run missions that probably makes it less likely that Avengers is opening in 2026. Seems like these fit the bill of “new” offerings to keep some buzz going in a sort of down year before the new bigger attractions start debuting. I also won’t rule out something going into Philharmagic like a new show or a Muppets comeback.

No offense, but I wasn't really thinking of you when I posted it. ;)

But seriously, I think both is enough to draw a crowd and get some MKs to renew, which I sure is what they are hoping.

Also as I said it was a long shot, its also why I said toward the end of the year for a Infinity Defense and Stark's opening. As again it would coincide with Doomsday's opening in theaters in Dec 26, something we've talked about in the Avengers thread. Its like when they opened MB to coincide with Guardians 2 in theaters. I mean the accelerated construction we've seen leans into this, so again not out of the realm of possibilities.

I didn’t say you were necessarily but I’m the one who started the conversation relating these new offerings in 2026 to MK renewals literally three posts above the post I replied too. SMH haha

I'd love the idea of a 24-hour party on the fourth.

That said, the time frame for this celebration - 8 months - feels prolonged and ill-timed. But that's just my POV. I would have taken a January post-holiday launch easily.
