Thanks for posting that!

isn’t that how we all feel? It’s not the Disney parks that Walt intended - but we are thrilled that people get to experience a version of the Disney parks.
Exactly, It''s like will never see a meet and greet where Mickey is Pointing guns at his friends...But, a friendly version who is way too happier than normal..

Eh…. This still isn’t it. Vogel is very talented - his Uncle Deadly is excellent. But they really need to get Steve back.
I would prefer that, if they recast Vogel, they not get Steve back. He’s in his late sixties. They need someone younger who can continue performing the character for the next 20-30 years. There are dozens of talented up-and-coming puppeteers who would jump at the chance. Give one of them a shot.

He’s looking great for his age.

The puppets never age. Hard to remember that the puppeteers do. Dave is 79! Wow.
I really hope Dave has been training someone to take over for his characters. I hope he’s able to keep performing for years to come, but when he does give it up I don’t want another case of major characters being recast with performers the general public rejects.

Is this supposed to be a defense?
Yes. It's incredibly hypocritical to complain about Kermit "sounding wrong" and then gush over David Tennant's Scrooge McDuck, which sounds nothing like Alan Young.
I'm pretty sure those are all meant to be new iterations of those characters. Kermit is canonically still Kermit, he's not a reboot.
I've heard this "no, no, it's not THAT version of [CHARACTER], it's a NEW version!" excuse before, but it doesn't hold much water.

For one thing, the Jetsons movie where Tiffany did Judy wasn't a reboot. The original plan was for Janet Waldo to voice Judy again, but studio executives forced them to replace her with Tiffany because they thought it would sell more tickets.

And in a lot of these reboots, there's still other characters who still sound like themselves. The DuckTales reboot still had Tony Anselmo as Donald (and even then they did episodes where some sort of device was used to give him Don Cheadle's voice). George, Jane, Astro, etc. all still sounded like themselves in The Jetsons Movie. And even if the character designs are slightly different, they generally aren't so different that it feels like an entirely new character, so in my opinion the voices still stand out. Plus, most Muppets productions have their own continuity anyway, so you can still make the claim that they're not supposed to be the same characters per say.

The fact remains, even if not every project featuring Scrooge was in the same continuity as DuckTales, he still had a consistent voice for years since then. We know what Scrooge McDuck, Garfield, etc. sound like and it's not David Tennant, Chris Pratt etc.

Plus, at least Matt Vogel is TRYING to sound like Kermit. That's more than you can say for Chris Pratt.

I can say this more about The Looney Tunes..But second to Eric Bauza who has somehow took over all of them. The best version of Bugs and Daffy in the mid 90s is the late Greg Burson and Joe Alasky...

It's a good thing I didn't gush over David Tennant's Scrooge McDuck then. Hell, I either don't like or haven't seen all the things you listed (the Chip & Dale Disney+ movie was god awful though), but of those that I have, the voices were probably the least of my issues.

Either way, it's not just a voice issue for Kermit. It just doesn't FEEL like Kermit, which I suspect is most people's main problem. The voice is just the easiest aspect to latch on to.

To be fair I think more people would be aware of Kermit sounding off than say Judy Jetson or the Jellystone characters.
Most fans of Jellystone have made it clear that they don't actually like Hanna-Barbera or its characters, which is likely the reason why they don't care about the voices "sounding wrong". The general public (as in, outside of the internet) likely hasn't seen much if any of the show, or maybe they just don't remember how the characters are supposed to sound.

I think the reason why you don't see as many complaints about David Tennant, Chris Pratt, the celebrities in Jellystone etc. is simply because they're celebrities, and people are just such big fans of them they think it's cool that they're voicing these characters and don't care that the voices sound off. It makes me wonder, if Disney decided to have a celebrity to Kermit's voice - just using their natural voice and not trying to sound like the character at all - would people still be complaining?
I can say this more about The Looney Tunes..
Oh, there's definitely been some wrong-sounding Looney Tunes characters over the years. Billy West is a great voice actor but his Bugs Bunny was pretty bad. He's a great Elmer Fudd, though.

Well, you could say the same about the DuckTales and Jellystone characters too - their personalities are drastically different. Then again, people seem to prefer the new versions over the originals...

I've seen complaints about Steve's Kermit and the other Muppets "sounding wrong" too (I recall there being a review of the 2015 show on IMDB that complained about Bunsen's voice, even though it's still Dave Goelz!). I've said this before, but I think most people only complain about the Muppets' voices because of that Family Guy sketch @Cmdr_Crimson posted... like, after they saw that, they all went "Oh, yeah! That's another thing we can complain about!". Even if it they had Peter Linz take over as Kermit like everyone's been suggesting, there'd probably still be complaints about Kermit's voice.
