I'm content with a small slice of magic nowadays. Provided I can get it for 90% off of rack rate. The slice doesn't even have to be that big. Just so long as it can fit a few pepperonis and a decent amount of cheese.

It never has/never will

Totally agree. Disney does NOT care about wait times, attendance or the guest experience.

The ONLY measure Disney cares about today is per capita spending!

The magic. Or to be precise a very small slice. Pay attention.

Iger makes me laugh. He literally dares people with his audacity. He’s on record being concerned that Disney is getting too expensive and that people dealing with certain economic realities or hardships are getting priced out of a Disney vacation. I think since he said that they have raised prices multiple times on park tickets, parties, after hours events, Single lane and multi-pass tickets. You can’t speak out of both sides of your mouth and be taken seriously. He’s trying to satisfy Wall Street and the fans and potential park-goers. You can’t do that Bob! Stop being feckless! Pick a side and own it.

Honestly, his time should have been over. Love them or hate them, each CEO brings something to a company. Walt was the visionary, Eisner brought Hollywood to the parks, Chapek showed how not to be a CEO for this type of company and Iger is the IP king. Well, the catalogue has been expanded. Time to sail off into the sunset Bob. We need someone new with a new idea. Don’t know if we will get that but we can always hope.

We all know Disney was going to do its annual price increases on everything like they have done for decades no matter what is happening in the world.

Right no one should be surprised by that, but the discounts do vary depending on what's happening in the world.

Disney's annual price increases greatly outpaces inflation, wages, tariffs, strength of dollar and everything else.

Folks only have so much money to spend at WDW...

They only have so much money, but there is an endless supply of debt to be had. If credit dries up you'll really see attendance drop.

Right no one should be surprised by that, but the discounts do vary depending on what's happening in the world.

Discounts are fake and temporary just to try to pull folks in to spend money on everything they raised prices of.

In the 80s and into the 90s they were far more unique experiences and offered upgraded amenities and services… so yes in the terminology of tiering, it was appropriate to use a word like deluxe… to differentiate between the offers.

That's fair.

The language was a tier label - more than an adjective

I think it still works that way. Even if they aren't as distinct as they once were, the three tiers remain different from each other.

Jiko got 4 back in the day. No longer.

I did eat there once during that time and it was a wonderful experience.

I think @flynnibus is correct in saying the word we’re using should be premium.

The deluxe hotels are not “luxury” as everyone here agrees but people are willing to pay a premium price to stay closer to the parks.

As @monothingie pointed out there really isn’t much difference in quality but people are willing to pay the price to walk into the parks.
