It wouldn't surprise me if they have to install another metal fence where the yellow stripe in the carpet is. Doors in the fence only open to the doors on the monorail.

I saw this was posted in an article:

Currently the gate is only opened to the platform when a monorail is in the station and a host stands at the front of the train to limit access down the platform

This picture suggests the monorail was not involved. That’s the observation deck off the GCC. The monorail doesn’t go over that. What is above it is two outdoor staircases with platforms open to the air with a partial railing. Based on where that movable hedge is I suspect the victim jumped from the park side stair case and landed on the platform.

If the monorail train itself was not involved the most likely thing that might have be responsible was the electrical bar that is live and pushing a whole lot of current to run the train. That could be why the train stopped before it got there if it caused a circuit breakers to trigger.

Look above the platform, notice those lights going up the side of the building, as I said it’s an outdoor staircases and because of the shape of the building, the higher you go, the more central you get. I’m guessing, given the body was found on the outer deck, that said person jumped from the stairs. The monorail was likely closed to avoid seeing the aftermath from the train.
