MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

in @jah4955 ’s defense, we were being told not to post our personal feelings about the ROA project over on the construction thread but to do so here, and that if we didn’t want to see construction pics that we shouldn’t be on that other board. So @jah4955 probably came here because he expected not to see the demo pics here.

I didn’t want to see the pics either because I’m pretty disappointed about it, but I’m part of so many threads that I usually just respond to “message alerts” not paying attention to exactly which board I’m responding on lol

And, this is just one of the many reasons I’ve never put anyone on ignore on any website I’ve ever been on. Even if I vehemently disagree with somebody, I still wanna’ see what everyone hasta’ say. Even simply annoying (to me) people. Plus, putting other members on ignore can cause major conversational context/fluidity problems.
We can all be opinionated and opinionated jerks sometimes, but I have never and will never put anyone on ignore.
However, all that being said, you may not even see my post ‘cause you already have me on ignore…!!!!! :hilarious: ;)

Same here. I honestly don’t get being so against hearing other opinions that you’d just mute someone entirely. It still blows my mind that’s even a thing on a discussion board.

I’ve been around here basically since the start, for 25 years next year (👴💀), and have never once put anyone on ignore.

Oh no I have no problem hearing other people’s opinions. That’s what we’re here for.

But there are some people who rarely contribute anything of value to the discussion but post almost continuously saying the same thing.

To each his own. If you consider not using the “ignore” option an accomplishment, then congratulations!

Indeed, as I’m pretty much capable enough of ignoring members on my own without putting them on “ignore”.
The first time I ever saw the ignore option on the first Disney website I joined back in’07 I was a bit taken aback. “What the heck is this...?!” I thought.
Sign of the times, I guess.

Oh, the irony.

You know what actually adds nothing to the discussion? The constant chorus of people whose only shtick seems to be complaining about anyone who dares to be even slightly unenthusiastic about something. Surely you see that the people posting critical comments about a project are, in fact, discussing that project? And that the ones incessantly whining about those posters aren’t discussing anything at all? They’re literally the ones not contributing to the topic.

The Frozen animatronic thread is a great example. One tongue-in-cheek cynical comment has led to 6 pages of complaining about "negativity," cheerled by the usual suspects. It's ridiculous.

I didn’t say that I put people on ignore for being critical or less than enthusiastic about projects.

As a matter of fact I only have a few people on ignore and that doesn’t describe any of them.

I don’t know. From your last paragraph it sounds like you might benefit from the ignore feature.

I didn't even know there was a PP thread (just looked through 5 pages of threads and don't see it next) and haven't seen that request before

Isn't this treaded labeled about Cars-land? If you want a thread for lamenting RoA, shouldn't the threaded be labeled as that?

Guess I am confused

Unless the moderators want to review every post these threads will never stay fully on topic.

This is due to the sheer numbers of lamenters who turn every thread into a lamentation of every part of WDW.

I find this understandable but at the same time lamentable.
And for every "lamenter", there is a "defender", in equal numbers it seems. Just like every forum/message board. And that's never gonna change. What would be nice is if people could stop jumping on other people for their opinions, step back, and just consider and respect a differing opinion. But that has gotten worse, not better, in the 11 years I've been here, and I'm sure that trend will continue.

But some people go out of their way to be opinionated jerks all the time. I don't need to see that daily. I have a long list from here that are ignored because of that. I even tried clearing the list once. And most of them were back on the list within a week.
