MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I have no issue praising John for his contributions to the company. Several projects happened during his time as an advisor that turned out exceptionally well - Cars Land, Buena Vista Street, and Rivers of America being a few of them.
Correlation is not causation. You are picking and choosing things to attribute to him, and have already admitted to not actually knowing his involvement.

It *seems* to me, from the outside, that Lasseter kept pushing for "Pixar" to be a theme. And that's how we got Pixar Pier in DCA. And how we almost got a Pixar cul de sac in DHS in front of Midway's old main entrance.

Pixar isn't a theme. The individual films do not have a shared universe (except in the minds of some fevered imaginations). In fact, they can clash with one another.

Lasseter's absence hopefully means that TWDC will not try any more Pixar themed lands, but instead, make a coherent land around one IP.
Pixar as a theme in Hollywood Studios would have worked for me,

But that's all kind of beside the point anyway. As you said initially, it was about the sense of quiet and visual unity the Rivers provided. Just wanted to point out that the timeline wasn't actually that consistently considered.
You're totally right. Thank you for clarifying that; good point.
This sort of stuff wasn’t Lasseter’s doing. It was people like Tom Morris getting uncredited work.
Oh I wasn't talking about his work even, I just meant the reverence he had for Imagineering. I don't see a lot of his footprint on the parks tbh, outside of the Pixarification mentioned above.

It appears my initial comment got deleted; I apologize for some of the terminology/references and understand why it would've gotten removed. Thanks to the moderators.

I wish this wasn't posted on this thread but on the PP thread only, as many, repeatedly, directed everyone to go onto this thread to lament the loss of RoA & its attractions and to go to the PP thread to view demo/construction/etc.

I didn't even know there was a PP thread (just looked through 5 pages of threads and don't see it next) and haven't seen that request before

Isn't this treaded labeled about Cars-land? If you want a thread for lamenting RoA, shouldn't the threaded be labeled as that?

Guess I am confused

This is due to the sheer numbers of lamenters who turn every thread into a lamentation of every part of WDW.

I find this understandable but at the same time lamentable.

Thanks you for sharing .... Apparently since I have the person who started that thread in "ignore" that thread does not appear for me so why I couldn't find it

I will see if I can find a workaround for this

Would still suggest changing the title of this thread to something like "RoA removal grief sharing" or maybe just add "- do not post about construction here" or something as still seems confusion to not talk about the Cars Project work in the Cars Land title thread

Maybe we can use this thread for the destruction of RoA and the other thread for the actual construction of whatever they are trying to build there. 😉

.sure, that is sort of what I was get at

One for the going away if what was there, clearly labeled as such

And one for what is coming and the construction of that (which I guess the other thread which was not visible to me is labeled as)

And, this is just one of the many reasons I’ve never put anyone on ignore on any website I’ve ever been on. Even if I vehemently disagree with somebody, I still wanna’ see what everyone hasta’ say. Even simply annoying (to me) people. Plus, putting other members on ignore can cause major conversational context/fluidity problems.
We can all be opinionated and opinionated jerks sometimes, but I have never and will never put anyone on ignore.
However, all that being said, you may not even see my post ‘cause you already have me on ignore…!!!!! :hilarious: ;)

nah, I can see this ... for now ;)

i really try not to, and hold out but when it gets to the point that I can't come to this site at all because of a repetition of posts from a given poster I finally will do it - honestly, perhaps it is a shortcoming of myself, but it is either I do that or just never come back here (which many people may prefer)

I rarely use ignore but if I do it’s in the instance you describe. Relentless repetition.

I mean, I get that this site skews older but we don’t need to hear the same opinion a couple thousand times.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve said this . . . 😉

Yea, I get that.
I just tend not to want to miss what any member posts, and am just simply able to ignore those I want to.
Plus, scrolling actually goes pretty quickly…!!! ;) :)

My apologies...I didn't realize you didn't know about Piston Peak/Villians thread....agreed names could have been better...there were just many "forum police" kept saying "which" threads to go for "what" so by now I didn't expect the demo photos on this one.
