October 2025 Price Increases

The price of an Incredi-Pass with PhotoPass and tax is now $1850.97. In 2018 I purchased twelve Platinum Pass vouchers which are equivalent to the Incredi-Pass with PhotoPass. Three of the twelve expire in 2030 and nine expire in 2099. It was an attempt to hedge against Disney inflation. The price I paid in 2018 dollars was $10,015.86. The price to purchase the equivalent passes today is $22,211.64. Google says that a 2018 dollar has 29% more value than a 2025 dollar. That would mean that the original purchase in today's dollars based solely on inflation would be $12,920.46. The plan seems sound in theory. What I did not plan for, was the "soft" devaluation of the pass in terms of Lightning Lane costs, required park reservations and an overall park experience degradation - unsure how to factor that. If I had to do it again, I would probably not purchase or would have purchased a group of 10-day, park hopper non-expiring tickets. A concern is that "soft" devaluation will continue and our desire to even use the passes will diminish.
…this is some…”wizard math” 🧙‍♂️right here

$1629 isn’t exactly approaching $2k.

If a 1 day ticket is $200 - how much would would expect an AP to be?
Give it a couple years, I promise it will be 2k at the current rate of growth. I understand prices go up. I understand the increases are fairly minor this year. But as we keep excusing it away it keeps happening. Not to mention many people get at least one of the add ons, and if you do both you are at over $1800 a year.

Whether we split hairs about whether it’s approaching 2k or not, which it definitely is IMO, the fact is $1629 is just a lot of money. As is $200 for a day ticket. I don’t know what the answer is at this point. It is just getting absurdly expensive for everyone.

If they wanted more revenue from the more profitable streams…which was never tickets…they’d detach pass prices from day tickets.

The excuse will be “and make it
Like six flags flooded with NORMAL people? 😱

…that’s dumb…the pass prices are already well over the level where had can happen. Not like they’re ever gonna match that mentality
I know Six Flags is nowhere near the level of Disney especially if you don’t love thrill rides but their annual pass that includes access to 40 parks is insanely cheap compared to Disney. I think we paid about $200 ish for two of us for the whole year. No it’s not apples to apples, I get that. Disney should be more expensive. But ten times more, I dunno. Six flags does also charge more for food but again it’s not anywhere approaching Disney prices to go for the day.

A tariff raises some prices, but fewer goods will be sold at that price lowering monetary velocity which offsets the upward pressure on the general price level. Dollar based inflation is traditionally attributed to the printing of too many dollars, I'll argue that is still the underlying cause.

Disney prices are "winning" the race against the general price level. hooray

Well they openly declared war on APs with Slaphead as the bag man…

Believing that they’re “missing out” on daily fees…

But that thinking is so stupid…especially out of staters…
They’re not coming for the day…and how much cash are they bringing with them?

Just dumb
Hates APers, hmmm... Wait... I think I just discovered Chapek's incognito account on this board.

Hear me out: it's someone we all know and their avatar "photo" has an unusually lush looking head of curly hair which now that I think about it, seems a little too on the nose for me to have missed all this time. 🤔

So $1850 for IncrediPass. Family of 4 = $7400. To get good value for that you would need to visit a minimum of 30 times and your average per person/per visit cost would be ~$60.

But if you stayed on property for those times at an average of $350 night you can add $10,500 to that. And then let's assume QS and snacks at about $80 per person for day. So another $2400 per person.

$27,500 for a family of 4. Seems reasonable enough. My family can live great for a month a do all things Disney. And then for the next 11 months we can live in a van down by the river.

The simple answer is any out of stater planning to come two separate weeks throughout the upcoming year. It’s simply cheaper to get the AP at that point.
I bet you could gather up all of those people doing that this year and put them in a large conference room at the Contemporary. Repeat customers are not what Bob and Josh want, it's the first timers spending a fortune and a half on what they put forth as a "premium experience".

30/4 is 7.5 times. So if that family of four went for two weeks during the year, they’d save money. And with the AP discount, my room is rarely over $150 a night at any all star. So we’ll say $2000 for your stay.

Obviously it’s expensive, but it’s not as ludicrous as you make it out to be.

Sure for 2 weeks it's not that ludicrous. But who it's using 2 weeks vacation to visit Disney? Most people are likely to spend a weeks vacation for Disney at most.
