Hey all, I'm making this thread to clear up some confusion about forum rules, because yesterday I made a response in the thread about alleged softening attendance in the US parks recently, and it got deleted with no notice to me about why.
I'm assuming it's because I mentioned politics in my response. In my post I recognised the documented fact that international tourists are generally-speaking more averse to visiting the US currently due to the polticidal situation and party in power. I mentioned them by name but I was careful not to impart my own opinion on the matter at all, merely stating that it was documented that industry-wide the current recession and political climate are causing lower US vacation bookings both in and beyond the theme park industry.
I've never seen a rules page anywhere here on the forums before. I've looked - maybe not comprehensively enough - but couldn't find any. I'm assuming now that it's an unspoken rule not to mention politics at all, even if you're not stating an opinion. I don't know though, because that sounds a bit extreme, especially considering how much politics impacts the Disney Parks business and therefore why it's important we can talk about it over here. Maybe there was something else that caused my post to be deleted, but I honestly couldn't think of anything in there that would require a deletion.
If there's a rules page, please point me to it so I know better next time! If not, is there any type of conduct that a layman like me should probably know about but may be ignorant to currently? Thanks in advance
