Honestly, by Cake Bake standards, this isn't crazy, you get a good amount for that high price point
Look at the menu again. A drink, a charcuterie board appetizer, a Disney TS-quality entree, and a dessert For $200 plus tax and 24% automatic gratuity. I'm getting far more for less money per person at my local high-end steakhouse, not to mention better quality food. Unless a USDA Prime 24oz t-bone steak for 2 isn't "better quality food". Oh, but I don't get a picture with Santa or a take-home cookie kit. My bad...

I think whats interesting in the pricing model here, is the kids price. The target market here is going to be a family with kids, and they are $150 each. So they aren't priced a million miles away from the $200 adult price, but obviously get no alcohol, and less food. It really has to be looked at, that for a family of 4, its going to be just over $900.

Three drinks 😉

And the main reasons to do this would be to get the picture with Santa and the take-home cookie kit.

This is why I said not everything is for everyone. If you want a steakhouse you can find those too.

I fully agree with that ... though wasn't sure the age for the kids as for me, my 3 kids are "Disney Adults" so would pay the adult price so maybe I didn't pay enough attention to that lol, but yeah, you have a 7 and 4 year old and pay $300 just for them? That is a lot!

and I didn't love my meal at Cake Bake Shop but I think it more for my style/what I like ... the quality is there and I am sure it will be a really quality Santa and a really nice family photo .... like you said, not for everyone, but for families into this sort of thing, I do think you get a bit for the high price tage

Don’t forget to add the tax and gratuity. At those prices it would be more like $400 just for them.

I am generally supportive of tipping, but an automatic 24% gratuity is a bit much
Agreed. I am personally a very generous tipper. 22% is my standard, with up to 30% for exemplary service. However, on principle, I will not dine anywhere an automatic gratuity is applied. Tip culture is out of control in this country.

And if one more barista tells me the screen is going to ask me 'a few questions', so help me.

This is definitely only for people who own several Rolexus.

The Cake Bake Shop is hosting a Dinner with Santa Claus event at their Boardwalk location on 4 dates this year: November 18, November 25, December 2 and December 9.

The event includes a three-course holiday dinner, a professional family photo with Santa Claus and a take-home sugar cookie decorating kit.

Pricing is set at $200 per adult and $150 per child (ages 12 and under) - note that pricing does not include tax and 24% gratuity. The full cost is due at time of reservation confirmation.

Full details, including the menu and how to make a reservation, can be found at this link: https://thecakebakeshop.com/pages/dinner-with-santa-disneys-boardwalk

The menu is less than overwhelming. At that price, I'd expect roast tenderloin, duck and eggplant parm.

Almost everyone in my family does work or has worked in food service. We will tip that much, if deserved. But we also have higher standards of service because of that, as well. But we also live by this, for the most part (there are few exceptions) - If I have to stand up to order, or order from a kiosk, there is no tip. Obviously a bar can be an exception to that.

I know Disney gets a lot of criticism for pricey offerings but I don’t mind them.

I like the fact that there’s something for everyone but that not everything is for everyone.

I suppose there are some exceptions to that idea but this seems to be a fairly out of the way offering that won’t impact those who don’t choose it.
One thousand percent agree with this.

I am a great tipper (much to my husband's chagrin). I regularly tip 30+% for good service. But as soon as I am TOLD what I have to tip? Nope. Especially more than the industry standard? Double nope.
