October 2025 Price Increases

Tee shirt quality has plummeted. I refuse to buy any more. I can get the same quality of shirt at any Walmart.

And edit to add I also have a couple of Disney RSLVT shirts that are already pilling. Disappointing for a $70 shirt.
I agree that Disney's shirts are just not worth it. But I am surprised the rsvtls is pilling. I have over 100 of those shirts and very few have done that (yes, I know I have a problem)...

The pricing of all entertainment is wildly out of control. My wife and I don't do much in terms of entertainment. We're content with hanging out at home, going for walks, staying busy. When we do finally decide to partake in an entertainment offering, we flinch at the cost. Just last year we were going to go to a movie and tickets were ~$20/person. We didn't go because it just seemed outrageous. We recently thought of going to a small concert venue for a show. Tickets were $75+ per person. I am a huge Syracuse basketball fan. I used to go to games all the time. I now haven't been to a game in person in six or seven years because the value I get from the tickets is just not there.

I know someone is paying it otherwise they couldn't charge the prices they do. But it certainly isn't us!

I only go on Tuesdays because Regal has discount Tuesdays, tickets can be anywhere from $5-8 depending on where you live and they have 50% off popcorn on Tuesdays. AMC has discount days too but I don't know the prices.

Their attendance has cratered, compared to the past decade. They know that they can't organically show growth, so they put they put their finger on the metric they can control which is per guest spending so they can show the trained apes on Wall Street how great they're doing!

They could have easily kept prices in line and sacrifice the modicum of YOY growth in order to preserve what's left of their customer base, but they chose not to. Just hope the Disney Adults can fill the void.
I think it is a little more nuanced than that, but again, I don't disagree with the overall premise.

I believe most people would be pretty understanding (not happy) with price increases if they were done to cover actual costs and not been used to drive increased margins and as an attendance throttle for years.

These things are done to keep the profits above redline as sale and Demand falls

Any loss posted in Parks and the entire house of cards collapses

They have the lowest attendance in maybe decades and they’re raising prices…that’s for sending a message…not a reflection of reality

Since the COVID pandemic, Disney Experiences, which includes theme parks, cruise ships and consumer products, has been the company’s most profitable arm.

Just this year alone, the division generated $8.12 billion in profit — which is around a third more than Disney’s film, streaming and sports businesses combined.

On days like this, I am reminded that no job pays as well, tax free, when you are dead, than retiring from Disney. Every day my Dad takes us to the park it’s now an extra $900! my Mom’s total compensation increases. (3 one day park hoppers + parking)

I don’t know how regular folks do it.

One of the few with some perspective on how the company has devolved in the past two decades under Bob and also some semblance of common sense.

But hey some people just like having low standards.

I don't doubt your knowledge, wisdom, and perspective. But saying belittling comments about Disney adults when everyone on here clearly is one (perhaps not so much as the negative connotations with influencers) is just strange.

Key to the Kingdom Tour: $169–$189 (previously $149)
This tour, having taken a (free and) slightly modified version of it as a CM, is probably not worth $170, let alone close to $200. One of those old 8 hour tours or the holiday warehouse one that they no longer offer? Absolutely. But the best part is literally just the tunnels - otherwise it's all info most of us know off the top of our heads (and even incorrect info at that... which grinds me gears to no end), And they don't let normal guests see much of those sadly.
Prices are still less than our local sports stadiums. It's all wildly expensive.
In Orlando, replace this with Dr. Phillips Center For The Performing Arts, and you're even more right1
Don't forget Broadway shows
Most Broadway shows can be seen for half the price (or less) of an MK ticket. Especially if you're willing to wait in line for a rush ticket or don't particularly care who/what you see (or plan months in advance). Certainly cheaper than the tours that come through Orlando.

Everyone should be welcome in a Disney park, however, the thing that brought Disney to where it is today wasn’t appealing to nostalgia baited adults or shill influencers, or “adults” looking to get plastered on festival, kiosk adult beverages, it was the everyday family that saw an amazing product and made a connection with it. Disney at one point used to work hard to want to have those people in their parks, however, the current regime would rather have higher margin guests that spend more on food and beverage and merch at the expense of the quality of their parks.

Ask yourself has the Disney experience gotten better or worse in the past 20 years?
