News Harambe Market Refurbishment Planned Ahead of Restaurantosaurus Closure

I'm guessing it's going to stay the basic menu place for awhile. The US market isn't super experienced with African food (me included). If I was personally picking which QS to eat lunch at on most days at AK:
  1. Satu'li
  2. Flame Tree
  3. Harambe
  4. Yak & Yeti
  5. Restaurantosaurus
  6. Pizzafari
However, for picky eaters, Pizzafari and Resturantosaurus are probably at the top
I am from NJ and I detest Florida “pizza”. But when my kids were little, we went to Pizzafari more than once and I got a salad. One, kids are picky and two, air conditioning. As wonderful as Flame Tree or Yak and Yeti are, the seating is outside and I (and little kids) need a break from the heat.


We would also usually schedule dinner at Boma (my Husband’s favorite) on our AK days since we were on that side of the “world” to expose them to African food.

Please tell me. What is "Florida pizza"? I realize there are different types of pizza and everyone likes what they like and don't like what they don't like. I've heard of New York and Chicago style pizzas. Never "Florida pizza". Please enlighten me.

I am not an expert. I am not of Italian descent. But an unfortunate combination of doughy crust, bland tomato sauce and low quality mozzarella is combined and labeled “pizza” in most venues in Disney.

Then I suggest you call that "Disney pizza", not "Florida pizza", which is far more believable. There are exceptions at WDW, of course, like Via Napoli. You just made a sweeping statement about pizza across Florida so I had to take issue with that.

We all realize that mass produced theme park food isn't as good as what's available outside the bubble, but why should you also expect it to exactly reproduce cuisine from a thousand miles away ? Surely comparing Neopolitan to New York/ New Jersey style pizza would have people up in arms with debate about oil and sugar in the dough as well as the amount of cheese on the top.

The family and I went to Tusker House once for dinner. My wife and daughter didn't really like African food, but I thought it was good for the most part-but I don't think that would be something I want to eat every time at DAK. Yak & Yeti has always been our go-to.

I was about to say there is no such thing as “Florida pizza”.

We have all types of people living here which influences the different varieties available.

Perhaps the strangest part of this story is the Florida Style Pizza has origins in Philadelphia. At the corner of Snyder Ave and South Beachwood, the sign is still visible in old street view pictures on Google. The pizzeria closed more recently than the derelict building would suggest, and sure enough, the shop sold what it branded as Florida Style Pizza, also known as Inside-Out Pizza. These are deep fried pockets of dough filled with cheese, sauce, and sometimes include pepperoni.

That's what the Site That Shall Not Be Named would like you to think. Nothing has been specifically said about that. Just that burgers and fries will be added. Not necessarily "replacing" the menu. We won't know that until or if it happens.

Hopefully it will just be added. It’s nice to have unique and healthier options.

Having 0 restaurant experience outside of eating at one... I would assume complexity of a menu would need increased fridge, cooking, prepping space, and dishwashing space potentially. Not to mention more logistics and potentially cooks.

If you ever get ANY of these puffy looking pieces of blah at the park they are nothing but frozen pizzas from a distributor company that works with Disney called Nation Pizza...

Pizzafari, Former Pizzarizzos, anyplace your resort that sells it. Will probably be that brand...I saw this while I was waiting in line at Pop Century and while waiting in line of the CM's unwrapped one to get heated and I saw the logo on top of the garbage and found out the company is a local Chicago company out in Schaumburg...

Not really a local company as Nestlé bought them from Kraft in 2010 along with DiGiorno, Tombstone, Jack's and the California Pizza Kitchen trademark.

Ah, yes I forgot about that I'm a Chicagoland native that's why...Who knows now if you'll be snarfing on a Digiorno brand one now😆..
I haven't been there at the resort in over 5 years..

It probably won't be like the full two menus combined but also probably won't be only just exactly what Restaurantasaurus had ... My guess is a combination of the menus with some more unique options combined with some "regular" the burgers and fries, etc
