Large scale demolition at USF/IoA

The address could be either park. My map app puts it closer to USF but 5 acres seems too big for Simpsons. Lost Continent finally leaving?

6000 and 6100 Universal Blvd could be just about anything at the north campus, but yeah Lost Continent makes the most sense. Using the Google Earth Pro ruler tools, demolishing Poseidon's Fury and Sinbad is just about five acres if the other Lost Continent buildings are not demolished.

Pokemon, Zelda, Waterworld, Grinch Krumpit coaster... so many options.

Exciting to see that UOR is at least moving forward with projects.

The phrasing suggests we should expect some sort of quiet period between once they fully demo and a new project opens?

I honestly think she's just playing it coy about what they're doing. They love to start building things before they announce what it is, then it feels like they build it in one year when it's actually been two. With Disney, it's usually five years AFTER the announcement of what it is!

I'm guessing Wicked over Zelda for Lost Continent due to the Wicked talk. I know Zelda has been mentioned for Lost Continent in the past, but not recently.
Didn’t they just last week downplay the Wicked talk?

If it’s Zelda, Nintendo likes coordinated messaging (like we saw today with a bunch of Mario games AND the next movie announced for Mario’s 40th). I could see an announcement with the teaser for the Zelda film sometime next year. Zelda (the franchise) turns 40 next year.

“In the coming months, there will be construction activity in Lost Continent as part of site planning to ensure the area is ready for any future developments,” Director of Public Relations Kristen Smith said in an emailed statement to Orlando Business Journal.

This announcement comes almost 7 years to the day that Sindbad closed.

Let's hope it's not another 7 years until the replacement opens

The process of replacing Lost Continent started closer to a decade ago. They closed both attractions years ago in anticipation of a project that’s now finally maybe moving forward at Epic Universe.
Didn’t they close Poseidon’s fury due to a water pump issue after they spent money repairing and repainting it?
