Are you arguing that a more intense (and, for Disney, off-brand) Villains Land would help attendance and revenue? I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make.Well that will surely reverse some negative trends![]()

It may…Are you arguing that a more intense (and, for Disney, off-brand) Villains Land would help attendance and revenue? I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make.
Even for an internet troll you are insufferable. It may…
Sanitizing things isn’t the sure winner it’s made out to be
I didn’t say I wanted them to sanitise things, so I’m not sure where you got that notion. Nor is there any evidence that that’s a strategy Disney is pursuing or considering. It may…

You act like you have comprehended any of the things I say…Even for an internet troll you are insufferable.
Despite what new branches the Disney tree has grown over the years it’s core was built off of children’s entertainment and the theme parks are in fact FAMILY theme parks.
Just accept that you haven’t been a part of the target audience since you were 12 and that what they do now isn’t your thing and move on without having to dump on every discussion that anyone has about the company. What do you get out of going on every thread and just posting “Iger is the devil and Disney is horrible at everything!!!!” I has to be exhausting and a waste of your time.
Well that’s kinda what they’ve been doing for years… not overtly…but the net effect is the sameI didn’t say I wanted them to sanitise things, so I’m not sure where you got that notion. Nor is there any evidence that that’s a strategy Disney is pursuing or considering.
Low management standards and customers who don’t hold them accountable?Anyone know the real reason why this building has say vacant & dormant in the worlds most recognized theme park for all this time with no end in sight?
100% just a guess, but I’m guessing the setup in that room was expensive and involved, and on the one hand they’re loath to destroy it, but on the other, both iterations of that attraction apparently deserved their own slide whistle sound effect when graphing guest satisfaction scores. Also the footprint is quite small so it’s not like you could replace it with a dark ride. It was probably low priority, a weird space to work in, and there was possibly hand wringing about whether or not to salvage anything from the bones of the original setup.Anyone know the real reason why this building has say vacant & dormant in the worlds most recognized theme park for all this time with no end in sight?
You would think the most creative Theme park company in the world could come up with something to fit the size and scale of the building.....100% just a guess, but I’m guessing the setup in that room was expensive and involved, and on the one hand they’re loath to destroy it, but on the other, both iterations of that attraction apparently deserved their own slide whistle sound effect when graphing guest satisfaction scores. Yes WoL also. Disgrace on both accounts agreed. Im just wondering how these areas have never been developed againLow management standards and customers who don’t hold them accountable?
Wonders of life comes to mind as well
Its Disney with supposedly the most creative imagineers ever. You cant tell me a total gut & something built is impossible…100% just a guess, but I’m guessing the setup in that room was expensive and involved, and on the one hand they’re loath to destroy it, but on the other, both iterations of that attraction apparently deserved their own slide whistle sound effect when graphing guest satisfaction scores. Hard to tell for sure…but it’s mostly that mothballing became a new standard 25 years ago that wasn’t something they were willing to do before.Yes WoL also. Disgrace on both accounts agreed. Im just wondering how these areas have never been developed again

Again, total guess, but guessing it wasn’t a high priority. It might irritate fans, but is the average visitor even aware of it?Its Disney with supposedly the most creative imagineers ever. You cant tell me a total gut & something built is impossible…

I also wonder if they’re holding off for a larger redo of the entire Tomorrowland area. Even more speculation - lack of new sci-fi IP that took off with the public might have delayed that as it’s hard to find a great fit with the IP mandate.
I have the same concerns. I honestly think a lot of the changes made to POTC would have never happened had the movies not existed and messed up the morality tale of the original attraction. That’s my worry about Villains Land. I am concerned it’s going to be:
A) “We’re misunderstood”
B) “We’re bad but functionally toothless”
C) “We’re kind of evil but feckless”
D) Some combination of all of the above
Not anymore, You could argue that they were in the past. Things like Alien Encounter, The original Snow Whites Adventures at The Magic Kingdom , The original POTC Dead Mans Cove and the original Attic Scene of the Haunted Mansion. None of these still exist of course. The Disney parks have never been associated with intense scariness. The few times they’ve tried it, it hasn’t gone well. I’d prefer Villains Land to stay true to the spirit of their existing approach.
I don’t know, I think I started posting here around Covid and I don’t remember people talking about it as something that was likely to happen. I might have missed that part of the rumor mill though. That’s been kinda unicorn fantasy for how many decades at Disneyland now? Bout 40?
