Like I said in an earlier comment, this is HIGHLY unusual. Usually, if a storm knocks out rides, it's a longer storm and mostly rides in MK (POTC is particularly finicky). This was a normal FL afternoon t-storm, but obviously lightning struck just in the right spot to knock out a bunch of rides.

Or generate the needed 1.21 gigiwats of electricity needed for the flux capacitor to operate.

The least they could have done is sent everyone back in time to before the power outage so they could ride!

Ah, I’m guessing that’s why. Major urban areas in Tampa do have some natural gas lines, and those can be used for large backup generators.
