I really can’t see any new announcements happening, unless it’s going on brand new land and not causing anything else existing to close. You can only have so much closed at one time.

I suspect we will just get updates around project that have been announced already.

Not really, up until the last couple they never had much in the Amway if news at Destination, it really isn't set up to be for big news things. It more for fans that love the history of the parks and the company, etc

I have tickets and would I love ve some major breaking news? Sure .... But there are a bunch of the panels I am really looking forward to
... Plus all the merch!

So either there is going to be a focus on just a few things like villains land and cars or maybe they have plans for other announcements and don’t want this small stuff to get lost in the shuffle of those.

It's not been unknown for significant park news to be released shortly before or after a D23 event.

It's like trying to find patterns in truly random noise.

Certainly not feeling “cheated”. Though I bet some are who don’t understand what Destination is, this was never really the enticement of Destination. Exclusive studios content is a lot more meaty than the blog post fodder we’ve gotten of late.

This is exactly the type of stuff that is best distributed by media. Or would have occurred in that singing segment. Though I’m still curious to see the full strategy here because it’s enough stuff to be a light appetizer without being meaty. So was a strategic decision made to not get people over excited and divorce destination back to being an event without parks announcements?

Coming from my personal experience in the land of marketing "exciting announcements" is a very nebulous/meaningless phrase... "Exciting" to whom? (the answer is "marketing"... that is whom the announcements are exciting too...)

Well, fan reception has been strongest for Villains (the most universal approval across the fandom currently) and Monsters. We know Villains news was already scheduled for the presentation, so exciting news was always coming.

I could also see them wanting to give the Muppets news first, so fans can enjoy any Monsters updates knowing the Muppets will live on.
