Seems like there's a few of us who will be following this season. Feel free to talk all things Australian Survivor: Australia vs The World here!

I would say, make sure you're caught up with all the episodes before reading to avoid spoilers.

That had to have been the craziest episode 2 of a Survivor season, right? I mean, I haven't seen any international seasons outside of this one*, but I can't imagine it getting crazier.

*I guess I did see the first 4ish episodes of Brawns vs Beauty, but the season was pulled from Paramount+ before I could finish. I also don't remember a whole lot from it.

Heroes V Villains had one of the most memorable tribals of all time. If you're enjoying George, he has some great moments in his previous seasons.

Both episodes have really been about a showdown between two titans of the game. It's super fun so far.

David is taking over as host of Australian Survivor. Really going to miss JLP but David should do well.

I saw the news about David. Sounds like people aren't thrilled about losing JLP.

Also, for the record, I do know who some of the Australian players are. I just haven't seen them play. I know who George, David, Shonee, and Kirby are.

I've seen very little of AU Survivor, but definitely watched the season they had in Australia during Covid which featured a few of them, and some bits of pieces of maybe another season airing around that time so i'm familiar with Golden God, King George, Luke, & Shonee.

Honestly, I love all 4 of them as players and was really happy to get to watch them again alongside 3 of the all time US Standouts.

Sad to see David booted early, but it's the smartest thing to do. Are women going to totally dominate this season as it appears will happen? If another male goes next episode, it clearly shows a major issue with the casting of 14 going 3 men/4women on each side. (I know, I know - it's a special season).

That was also one of the most chaotic tribal days we've ever seen, with 4 targets definitely talked about and it seemingly switching left and right. Crazy to think that David/Luke could have saved their group if they just went with George as he was trying to do!

Wild!

JLP has the essentials down pat, and manages to deliver the standard lines and what not while still injecting a bit of his personality and humour into things. I think a lot of people also feel he does Tribal better. He draws out information well.

David is a big personality and has obvious charisma, but the big question everyone seems to be asking is can he host in a way that he doesn't make it all about himself.

I think he will. He's over the top on the show a lot but it's often tongue in cheek and he knows how to play to the camera. Making a big deal about being better than George. Joking about how frustrating it is to be summoned to a conversation. He knows when to be a character, but also knows and respects the game.

He should have gone with George. George is blunt and abrasive, but generally tells the truth when doing so. This is a season where the big threats need each other.

A good first week! When do you think we merge? After the next episode, especially since they're booting two people?

These episodes have just confirmed my love for Parvati and Cirie, but especially Parvati. The box thing was so crazy! I love seeing those two work together again.

It's also somewhat interesting that Tony has played on a season with both Cirie and Parvati, but never actually played with them, because they were never on the same tribe.

I know this is Australian Survivor, but Survivor 49's cast dropped today. I created a separate thread for it if you want to partake in the preseason coverage:

Yeah, the merge must be episode 5. Odd that it would come after an odd number of episodes, meaning one tribe would have the numbers no matter what.

Unless they pull some kind of twist where when he says, "both tribes are going to tribal council", he means they are all together, voting one person out. But two people are immune? Just a total hypothetical, but I'm assuming unlikely.

I'm finally caught up on this week. I've been extremely busy this week and haven't had the time to watch.

I did think Parvati was going to be voted out, because I thought I saw a spoiler of her handing her torch to JLP, but I guess it was just when she was getting the idol from the podium.

I think Cirie and the International players are in the best spot now. Parvati lost leverage when Kirby went home. I'm shocked Parvati has made it this far, but I'm happy about it.

Well she should be solid for at least 1 vote; and something tells me she successfully plays her knowledge is power this week and dupes Luke, saving her for a 2nd vote.

Every episode has been great -- Kirby kinda weirded me out though, glad she's gone.

Only keep reading if you've watched through episode 7.

How does Parvati keep getting away with this?! She survived two Tribals and didn't even have to use her idol! I'm not sure how much weight to put into this season as far as status goes, but she was already one of the best to ever play, and she's showing it again this season. The manipulation of Cass was amazing. And it looks like Luke is going to blab about his idol to her. The thing is, if I remember correctly, she has to play it when JLP says it's time to vote. So she couldn't have even stolen Cass' idol at that point. And Luke probably thinks she can, so he's outing himself in an attempt to talk her into not doing it. Absolutely genius play on her end.

Watched episode 8. I would really like to see a lot of these players in a real Survivor season.

@PUSH you were right about Parv’s advantage. She does have to announce before they vote. She used an old Tony Vlachos trick and made it seem more powerful than it is.

The other players are simply just not as good as the US players, it's that simple. And also...not that hard to understand. They've had YEARS and SEASONS to analyze this game -- it's truly an unfair matchup IMO.

Only read if you've finished the entire season!

The season slowed down a bit at the end, but it was still a very good season. It's hard to compare it to the US franchise when ranking it, but it would be near the top if I did. Parvati played an incredible game. Like I said before, it's hard to figure out how to factor in this game and weave it into her overall Survivor story. Is she considered a two-time winner now? If Cirie would have won, I'm not sure I would have considered her a winner when talking about US Survivor. It was such a shortened season, with less people. But on the same hand, Parvati did show that she's one of the best, if not the best, in Survivor history. I think it's a conversation of her and Tony, and I think I side with Parvati because, in my opinion, she should be a three time winner (Micronesia, HvV, and AU vs The World). But again, how much do we factor this season into that equation? Do I update my player rankings? It's so hard to balance.

Regardless, Parvati hands down deserved this win, regardless of who she sat by. I love Cirie, but Parvati even deserved the votes over her. In a way, I'm glad Cirie didn't make the final three, because it would have been hard to see her finally get then, only to lose. Parv was dominant socially, strategically, and physically. The bluffing of her advantage rivals the double idol play in HvV. It was so impactful. I felt like she was also the only player to really nail the final Tribal Council. Luke's points were decent, but he's not a great speaker. He also really didn't have a story. Jeanine is a good speaker, but the loyalty card never works out. If that's you're only story, the jury doesn't want to hear it, and they'll find holes in it. Parv was far and away played the best game and executed everything to perfect. Do we consider this a perfect game? She had no votes against her and won. However, Sarah voted for Luke.

It’s an impressive win for Parvati, but in no way can this win be an equal to Tony’s (and Sandra’s) two wins. A 16 day season, Parv and Cirie having an automatic ride or die, and unequal starting tribes (4 women to 3 men). Again, a very impressive win, but not equal to an American season of Survivor.
