Just a reminder for anyone who booked at a Disney Hotel for D23.

For Disney World hotel reservations in 2025, the cancellation policy varies depending on whether you booked a room-only or a vacation package.Room-only reservations require cancellation at least 8 days before arrival for a full refund of your deposit, while Vacation Packages (including park tickets, etc.) require cancellation at least 30 days before arrival for a full refund.

In hindsight the lack of a parks panel isn’t that surprising. There’s a been a lot of announcements and news over the last year. Side note. Phineas and ferb panel!
It seems very light on even the lighter stuff... A DCOM/DC series panel where they can't even confirm who's going to show up (or even give a few bigger names)? Really? Panels that are repeats of stuff they've already done, or split up over multiple days for no reason? Seriously?

What is the pivot? Disney announced some panels with unclear themes on some of them, people assume (rightfully so) that some of the panels that match certain themes might include talking about specific projects because obviously??
The pivot from everyone posting their hopes/wishes/dreams for what they think could be announced at the parks panel to posting their hopes/wishes/dreams of what they think could be announced in various other panels because they are desperate and hopelessly addicted to pixie dust.

So, because people made predictions of potential announcements, they’re “pixie dusters”?

Villains is not where we need updates. That’s so far off that anything they say will likely be vague and general. The lack of information about the Muppets replacement, Muppets coaster, or second Cars ride is more troubling.
Honestly, me personally, I think most of these are fairly obvious and could be done in a blog post and don't need any massive announcement. Also they're not going to announce the Muppets replacement on stage because no matter what it is, people are gonna be upset about it not living up to Muppetvision 3D

This actually seems like a fun Disney themed weekend that is probably what everyone’s expectations for a Destination D23 should be except for one anomaly… How the heck do you stretch The Three Caballeros across 3 panels? 🤔
Well, there are three of them ;)

I do think after last year's expo and then following it by moving this Destination to a larger location and calling it the biggest one ever, etc it probably got people's expectations raised too much

Like you said, this schedule seems in line with what Destination has traditionally been, just the marketing for this year did give vibes it might be a bit different - but seems we misinterpreted things

People had some expectations in their mind about what the panel would be, Disney announced new information that changed it, people are filling in the details as this is usually a time to give some smaller updates about the parks...

Desperate? Hopelessly addicted? Get off the soapbox man

I also just realized that the Roy P. Disney panel forgot to mention/omitted his father (Roy E. Disney), who arguably is just as important as the Roy they did mention (especially now, but perhaps for reasons Disney didn't want to mention).

No
Wonder if there is some concern that the home crowd would react poorly any time Monsters or Cars Land would be discussed based on the popularity of the attractions they are replacing...

I think there's been a realization that the d23 crew doesn't exactly represent the everyday, big profit guest. Why announce things that'll be popular to most guests in front of a crowd that will hate them

I am amazed by the people who are so surprised there is no specific parks panel. This isn't D23 Expo. It's never been a place for major announcements. Sure we get a couple but it's not a huge thing like Expo. Usually they do more niche things which is exactly what they announced.
I looked back and yeah this is basically the same thing that happened for the last 2 Destinations. People got their hopes up for a ton and got immediately mad the moment it didn't reach those expectations.
