News MK Ferry boat crash last night, multiple injuries

Wouldn't stop the news from reporting about it though.
I'm sure they would. What little evidence we have says that this happened late at night, so probably not many witnesses around. If Disney was able to get to people before word got out, the news might not find out right away.

That being said, we live in an era where a plurality of the population posts constant updates about their lives, on even the most banal of subjects. Unless there was also zero cellular service in the area, it's hard to believe nobody tweets about it in the moments immediately after.

One question I have - during storms at park close - what the plan for guests?

Like you can’t leave guests outside in lightning with no shelter available. They can’t go back in to the park. And all the guests can’t fit under the monorail roof.

Also - when the ferry goes down for weather - how quick do they start running busses to the TTC?

Get to people?

I don't know the particulars about this, but having ridden the ferry's over a 100 times they always tell people not to come down the stairs until they are docked completely. So if the responsible public acted like they usually do, the stairs were probably full and where most of the injuries happened. People is so stupid!

It's hard for me to imagine any waves strong enough on Seven Seas Lagoon to influence the ferry very much. Maybe a CM that usually worked as a custodian that Management decided to have cover for a ferry pilot.

Finally saw a story on Fox 35 (Orlando's local Fox affiliate, corporate owned) about the accident this evening at about 10:30. So that's something at least.

I mean…. Riding a ferry shouldn’t send you to the hospital. Should the injured just say “it’s ok Mickey - you didn’t mean it!”
Why does every “accident” have to result in a lawsuit and payoff?!? Take care of ALL medical expenses and compensate with a vacation back to the world. As long as noone is seriously and permanently injured and life isnt changed. Move on are my thoughts …

Often lawsuits come about because medical expenses are not covered - or there is a lack of empathy from the company.

But yes I agree…. In a perfect world a company like Disney would be so pro-active, empathetic, and generous that nobody would have the need to even think and call a lawyer.

Because there are some out there that we like to call "ambulance chasers" and will file lawsuits for ingrown toenails. Reading some of that Reddit post though, people are saying the storm came out of nowhere and thats why the ferry was already moving when it hit.

SOMETIMES this is the case. Often they come about because people see Morgan and Morgan or Steinger, Greene and Feiner (is Iscoe with Jimmy Hoffa?) ads and when they get injured on the property of a big company they see dollar signs floating in their eyes.

Definitely some concerning reports - many are saying there was no announcement afterwards, no apology, and lots of confusion on what to do if you were injured or concerned about an injury.

I was on the boat to old key west once and the driver hit the dock a little hard - with everyone sitting and no issues at all he was very apologetic and made sure everyone was ok.
