How much longer are they going to keep this reservation system in general? time to kill it already.
i don’t really care if they keep it in place - but if there are reservations available for all parks, virtually everyday, why make people sign up and reserve? Can’t they program the system to allow passholders in if reservations are still available?

“Unprecedented demand!!!”
There was. For the new Night Parade.

Rather than the first few nights being a giant mob of people that ops couldn't handle and people there would have hated, they capped attendance using the Reservation System.

Temporary measure for a temporary problem. A wise thing to do, IMO.

Don't know why anyone would want to equate it with other issues.

Did you expect This to end this early?

Also worth noting that entertainment like this (e.g. a new firework show, stage show, parade, etc.) is designed to be seen by pretty much everyone in the park who wants to do so in a given day, so the reasons for restrictions differ from rides and are, by their nature, more short-lived. Restrictions are about managing a very short spike of vloggers and also making sure things like crowd control become operationally stable. By contrast, ride restrictions are about controlling access to something that is in high demand but physically cannot be experienced by every interested guest each day.

Amazing how Disney parks survived for so long with “actual” demand haha
While I agree that the general restrictions on annual passes are senseless at this point, I do think there are reasons for caution with new parades and whatnot that weren’t a factor in the past. For instance, there are more guests than ever, and the newer firework shows encourage people to flood Main Street and the hub in such a way that managing the crowd for bookending night parades is more onerous than in the past.

And whose fault is that?

Maybe instead of filling in and paving over all the water - they should have designed and promoted alternate viewing areas for the fireworks?

Sure, but we’re talking about how operations is coping with the hand they’re dealt, which is a separate issue from show design and the underbuilt nature of certain aspects of the park.

It was originally expected to be in place through mid-August.
