It would be a really boring forum if everyone just said “this is Disneys best idea ever! Yay!”

What’s your take on this announcement?

Why are you guys so negative about it? You guys complained that TMODA got replaced by a lame Star Wars Launch Bay and now DHS is bringing back The Magic of Disney Animation, and this is the thanks you’re giving to DHS? Geez guys!🙄
I’m leaning negative because they had a decade to come up with something to replace Launch Bay and the best they could do is “let’s just bring the old thing back.”

Meanwhile they’ve announced multiple attractions that would have been natural fits for this space but instead took out fan favorites (MMRR & Door Coaster).

It’s the original show with an extra song and some universally derided CGI. Not a lot has changed. And Poor Unfortunate Souls is still very underserved.

I'm usually very tough on Disney, but having seen it in person - it's very good and a definite improvement across the board.

Forgive me if it’s been mentioned, but I’m not going back 18 pages lol. Do we think Galaxy’s Edge will drop the timeline and finally allow legacy characters now that Launch Bay is going bye bye?

My gut says no - but more characters from said universe possibly? If i had my way, i'd love for Imagineering to just start doing MINOR pluses to Battuu. I watched a lot of the DisneyLand 70th POV videos, and Galaxies Edge is 13 minutes (with very clear product placement for Coca Cola - hilarious btw).
-Add a few animatronics in different places so all the lifeless robot statues have some balance.
-Add screens, with news reports (various languages), sports, music, life
-Add area voices & music around the entire land. I understand they want it to feel "real," so John Williams magnificent score will never be heard - (which partly makes Harry Potter area at UOR very strong), but how about some music that WOULD be heard coming from the buildings, shops, markets.

There's very easy ways to fix the area and give guests a reason to stay in it -- the quiet forest buzz...idk, makes me want to run out of there!

Well, dont bite the hand here..That's where I first saw it on FB since I don't really use "x"

However, this was recreated before at DhS as you can see it stood right by the corner by One Man's Dream before it,was removed when TSL was being created and the Soundstage behind it was removed..

Wait what???? I must’ve walked by here several times without noticing it (after already being obsessed with the sign).

Edit: I totally do remember this area being called “Mickey Avenue” and I do kind of remember seeing a version of the classic sign that looked a bit off…which this would fit the description of. I must’ve just forgotten about it.

Well, I live in Ca, but I’m so thrilled for DHS! Because I’ve heard they used to have a hand drawn animated studio there, until Michael Eisner end it for his greedy deeds. Anyway, I think this is a step of the right direction. Oh by the way, for those of you haven’t seen Once Upon A Studio, here it is:

On this week's Disney Dish, Jim has some new details on The Magic of Disney Animation 2 - Electric Boogaloo.

Jim says this, the new show for Disney Junior, and the current Mermaid show is the 10-year plan for Animation Courtyard.

The most likely candidate for the new show in the Disney Junior space is Bluey, especially with Disney releasing the upcoming Bluey movie in 2027.

I thought these were more like 5-year placeholders. 10 years is a long time.

The new Mermaid and Villains shows are rated very highly (4.5 stars, much higher than the things they replaced). So the thinking might be that this is good enough.

I think with rumors of a WB-Comcast merger being in the cards, Disney might be anticipating Marvel being replaced by DC for Florida and might have Echo Lake (which would be Marvel) earlier in planning than AC.

Keep in mind it's mostly from streaming distribution..Nothing else..,So don't get your hopes up..

I think we all know the regular posters here that would love this forum to be exactly that. If that's what some people are looking for, there are alot of facebook groups/subreddits/etc for all of the "sooooooo magical" pixie dust crowd to gather.
