MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

They can't do too much with the Speedway spot now thanks to TRON.

There are multiple Go Kart racing attractions around International drive that do far more with their tracks in a lot smaller space... Perhaps the Speedway could become a multi-level attraction...With better (or at least some) show scenes and scenery...you know, the thing that always set Disney parks apart from Amusement parks... Time to give The Speedway a 21st Century Autopia makeover... Or give it a WIR makeover and create a real-deal, fully fleshed-out Sugar Rush Raceway (which would be a beautiful and colorful transition from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland!

Be Careful what you ask for...there isn't currently a "Flex Space" rentable event lawn in the Magic Kingdom....

It was a walk-on after fireworks one of the nights I was there so I took a spin. At night it’s pretty enjoyable with the tron lights and all but there is 0 shade so it must be miserable in the day. What does Florida have against trees!?!?

It baffles me that 100’s of millions can be spent on tron and they don’t spend what… $300k to make the speedway on theme?

After Cars Land is built with the Cars attraction, frankly, I don't see the point of the speedway anymore.

The cars attractions are a thrill ride and maybe a flat ride. Neither replace the speedway experience.

A kid getting to “drive” a car in the magic kingdom park. Kids loved it in 1971 and they love it today. I don’t think that’s ever going to change.

Popularity and merch sales are not the same thing.

Coco is a much more popular movie than Cars. (Sold more at the box office and gets better ratings) but Cars moves merch.

It’s not something up for debate….

Coco is #8 on the highest grossing Pixar Films of all time. None of the Cars movies are in the top 10.

On rotten tomatoes Coco is #7 with a 97% / 94% score. All 3 cars movies are actually at the very bottom of the list with the exception of the first cars movie which beat out Elemental in popularity.

I have nothing against cars… cars land in DCA is incredible. But facts are facts.

Well, speedway is definitely not thrilling. I'll give you that. It's still flat, though. It's not Autopia either. Disney has already decided on the route of replacing items in MK that DL will maintain. ROA is gone. There is no more point in keeping a very short track for speedway either when they will have a thrilling cars ride on the other side of the park.

They have? So pirates, mansion, small world, dumbo, jungle cruise, WDW railroad, space mountain, buzz, little mermaid, tiki room, treehouse, big thunder, Tiana’s, Peter Pan, Pooh, carousel, teacups are all getting replaced? I must have missed that memo! Haha
