I think for Villains Land to be a true success it needs a dark ride of that caliber and a very thrilling coaster.
I’m trying to keep away from epic spoilers but do you think it’s better than Rise?

I’m hoping so, but if that’s the case I don’t see disney spending that. But I would love a truly immersive Villians dark ride.

Does Villains / Cars come with an expansion of the utilidors out under the two new areas?
Very unlikely (but you never know).

I think most people would consider Rise a superior experience. However, both of Epic’s e-ticket dark rides feel like they’re on a similarly massive scale to Rise.

In order to avoid being unfavorably compared to Epic’s offerings, the Villains attractions will need to be at Rise’s scale or beyond—and, hopefully, be multi-part experiences like Rise. This is all the more important for Disney’s reputation because Magic Kingdom is the park people most strongly remember as Disney. A lot is riding on the Villains attractions. We shall see.

They’re so different.

Rise, if everything works including the cannon room.

Otherwise, Monsters would be a coin toss for me.

It’s one of the best rides ever, rivaling Journey to the Center of the Earth, Mystic Manor, etc.

I’m very happy with it.

To me, I liked it as much as Shanghai Pirates honestly. Maybe I just “prefer” the execution. Similarly, I prefer Indiana Jones Adventure to Rise (though the whole preshow experience is what would take Rise above for me).

Ministry is absolutely weaker than both Hagrid’s and Monsters, but it’s still excellent and a step up from Gringotts IMO. Ministry also has a sense of scale that only really Shanghai Pirates captures.

It's really hard to compare anything to Rise - just with the different ride systems and all the CMs playing characters, going back outside and in, etc - it just a full experience, more than an individual attraction.

Doesn't mean everyone will like it/love it but just hard to compare to another individual attraction.

Glad to see you compare Monsters favorably to Mystic Manor - that is my favorite dark ride I have been on

Excellent points. I think the ride experience itself is a little different than the whole thing. Nothing compares to it all the way it unfolds. What a marvel of Imagineering.

No ride at Epic is nearly as good as Rise.

I actually found Epic to be the weakest Disney/Universal park by a decent margin.
Monster’s ride being the clear highlight.
I still consider UO to be the weakest park in all of Orlando for me. Minions land is ugly and has 2 terrible rides. New York has… Jimmy Fallon and a highlight with Mummy, Transformers is just a worse spiderman so meh, Fast and Furious is the most peak ride of all time (obviously). Gringotts is okay but imo the weakest of the potter rides by a pretty large margin. Men in Black is alright, it’s fun for what it is. Simpsons is… well it’s there. The land is much better the ride atleast but still needs replacing anyway. Bourne is great and ET is great. Everything else on that side of the park is pretty passable or bad (Dream Works land is a new freshly polished nothing burger, looks very cheap to me) Animal actors is fun though!

I'd go so far as to say USF is the worst park not just of the 7 big dogs in Florida, but even if you added the three big dogs over in California.

The hyperbole people sink into about how much EPCOT and MK have been "gutted" or "attacked" is the reality of what has actually happened at USF.

It's why I think Disney fans sometimes really don't realize how good they really have it.

What was shocking was how much better Universal Studios Hollywood is than it.

I know right it's crazy. E.T. is the only opening day attraction still left in the park. And I hope it stays forever.

What UO does have going for it is very easy crowd flow -- I agree that beyond Mummy, most of the attractions are "okay," but that also helps with crowds. When comparing that to what could/will be a very Epic Universe day, I still love UO for 20 min or less waits (walked out to Minion Blast, MIB, Simpsons, ET, Jimmy Fallon), add with 3 again "pretty good" shows in Horror Make up, Animal Actors, & Bourne Ultimatum (again...with probably walk in ability), and it's an easy day that leaves you feeling pretty good about your experience. If you opt for their hop pass, taking the train over and then doing favorites at IoA is again a great night.

A new wonderful roller coaster with a cool IP will certainly be better than the bones of RRR, and I'm VERY hopeful that F&F gets replaced to some sort of dark ride replacement and BOOM you have a very good park!
**And yes, the Parade is also again...pretty solid!

I think the perfect mix right now is: 3 days of Uni theme parks, with 1 of them being a hop day between the original 2, and two days at Epic.

What are the odds we get signature dining in villains land? Many bemoan the dining options in MK and this would certainly help spread people out. Or do we think it would be quick service?

They have so many opportunities for dining, but IMO YES another sit down place would go a long way for this park.
Or two separate multiple themed experiences a la Be Our Guest LUNCH style from years passed. Heavily themed area, themed menu, quick service-ish to get lots of people in and out.

Dining is only truly “bad” there because the main quick service options are terrible. If you overhaul Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill, you fix a massive part of the problem. Just give the former quality commensurate with Connections and the latter a rebrand to include Country Bears- and Tiana-inspired options above and beyond the Tex-Mex and you’re already in much better shape.

I would love to see one and one here. Piston Peak doesn't seem like it will have much to offer for food outside maybe a signature snack stand, so this new back portion of the park could definitely use more options. It's hard because Villains lends itself to so much, and there's a finite amount of space we'll be getting here. If Beak and Barrel is a hit, I guarantee they'll want a second lounge back here since Villians is predicted to be a more adult-orientated section of the park.

I think my ideal Villiansland at launch would include:

2 attractions (Mal intense Coaster, Dark Ride)
Shopping (Cruella's Boutique)
Quick Service (The Queen's Couldron)
Table Service (An Underworld themed Banquet with Hades as your host is my vote here. Could be Character Dining.)
Lounge (A Doctor Facilier Potion's Bar would kill)
