MK All-New Nighttime Parade Disney Starlight Set to Debut at Magic Kingdom in 2025

That “ladies and gentleman, boys and girls” opening and the clunky ways they’ve tried to replace it have led to its excision here altogether.

That “Baroque Hoedown” opening leading to lights out did cause enormous cheering, though. It’s a great moment.
Which I think you can really only feel and get in person, not so much in videos even though it can be heard.

Needs:
a title float
more street performers
much more costume and lights for them
smaller filler floats like MSEP and Spectro
at least 1 or 2 more large floats
Some kind of special effect (fire?)
A nod musically to Spectro as well
Maybe an intro announcing the parade electronically like MSEP?
Don't forget more Classic Disney Characters. Chip and Dale was notably absent from the parade. Meanwhile older characters like The Three Little Pigs, The Big Bad Wolf, the characters from Alice in Wonderland and anything made between the 1960s and 1970s era are left out.

But they got Wish in there… 👀
One thing I miss about the Eisner era of Disney is that both Walt Disney World and Disneyland used to have a much healthier balance when it comes to representing Disney Characters from older films and shorts at the parks. For example, The Three Little Pigs characters used to be common meetable characters. It wasn't uncommon on seeing them in live parade and entertainment during the 80s and 90s.

They even had the honor on leading Spectromagic's grand finale.

If Spectromagic was made nowadays, it would focus heavily on characters from the post-Renaissance era. Is Iger/Chapek allergic to older Disney Characters that ain't Snow White, Pinocchio, or anything from the Disney Princess lineup?

Since PTN is still operating…. Seems like CM’s are able to live to tell the tale.

Right? Do we think they can’t design nice light up costumes?? MSEP has them.. Dreamlights has them… Paint the Night is running with some new costumes …

Like, are black Motion Capture suits really the only option? Are we filming Avatar on Main Street?

I agree about the title float. Since it is Starlight, a float designed like a large two-sided shooting star using technology like Whimsy’s face to swirl and alternate between “Walt Disney World Presents” and “Starlight.”

I’d have the Blue Fairy after that and then I would add a float of flying characters following her - maybe Hercules on Pegasus, a circling Dumbo in the center and Mary Poppins floating while holding her umbrella at the end. That could transition nicely into the London scene of the Peter Pan float, especially if Pan and Wendy fly as has been said.

I feel like from the 60s and 70s, Pooh and arguably Jungle Book are the only ones that relevant enough that they would be questioned if they are in a parade.

Wish was clearly decided on pre flop.

CMs still complain.

The comparison to PtN is baffling to me. Pardon me for not giving DL a round of applause for finally, begrudgingly bringing back their 10-year old light parade after a 7-year hiatus. Incidentally, the same parade that everyone mitched and boaned about until 23 hours ago. Who knew the Disneylanders secretly loved it all along?

I may wish WDW would do even better, but their increased entertainment spending this summer is impressive while DL completely phones in their 70th.

I missed Chip and Dale too. I would actually put them where Mickey and Minnie are now. I would move Donald and Daisy from where they are now and replace them with Clarabelle and Horace because, well, I like them. And I think a final float after Whimsy with Donald and Daisy and Mickey and Minnie in something like hot air balloons floating away at the end of the parade would be cool. Maybe even put Jiminy Cricket at the back of that float to bookend Pinocchio at the star and finish of the parade.

Yeah, I was genuinely shocked to see no Clarabelle as well. She's been getting a much bigger park presence over the past few years

I believe certain characters were forced into this parade rather than some you’d expect
They literally have to barter. Throw in an Iger-tenure character to be allowed to include a classic. Happens when they develop any nighttime spectacular now.

Of course, other parades showcased obscure characters kids didn’t recognize. As long as it looks pretty…
