Unpopular opinion but the parade soundtrack sounds too classy, elegant, and sophisticated. As a result, you can't really have a lot of dancers between floats doing choreography like how they do it with Magic Happens or Paint the Night.

They really went for ethereal more than dance party.

Grand and elegant is exactly what WDW’s nighttime parade deserves. SpectroMagic was THE best parade. The score is spectacular. Glad to see this is of a similar vein. Dance party-vibes are….vastly overdone.

I respect your opinion, of course!

Soundtrack wise I was surprised there was a beat to this as I was expecting it to be slow. I wish it had lyrics. @ToTBellHop maybe I misunderstood but didn’t you say there was lyrics written for Starlight? I also wish Jiminy was the narrator and or spoke at the end like he did in Spectro.

*prepares for the tomatoes*

I think the Wish float is one of the most successful units. It provides a unique IP that isn't celebrated anywhere else, and the smaller scale provides contrast to allow the larger floats to have more wow. It's good to have levels to parades like this for story telling, and pacing. I think it's a beautiful vignette and one of the only floats that isn't blue. That moment of the film was easily the highlight, and on par with Disney's bests. A few more smaller scale floats like the Wish one would really change the perception of the parade for the better. My top choice for an IP that would be perfect for a smaller unit would be Hercules.

It's the classic Hollywood Studios issue: too many e tickets, not enough b's and c's.
No tomatoes as I agree it’s a great looking float and this parade could certainly use more like it. In a perfect world I’d like to see one between all of the larger floats.

With that said, Wish is a pretty terrible choice. There are so many other recognizable characters to choose from, especially with the larger floats noticeably missing some main characters from those properties.

It’s classic Disney forced synergy. If they started dreaming up this parade today, we’d likely have an Elio float too.

The idea that you can't have a lot of dancers with a score like this is absurd. Spectro had a ton of street performers. The soundtrack was literally a waltz, designed to be danced to. Starlight's music is sort of a halfway point between MSEP and Spectro, with more of a fast beat than the latter. There are also plenty of dancers surrounding the princess float. The problem is their costumes are horribly lit and incredibly bland, so you can barely even see them. The rest of the street "performers", they didn't even try. Three quarters of them are just people with bland black jumpsuits holding flagpoles with ugly cheap looking trinkets at the ends, or flinging veils about. The problem with the street performers has nothing to do with the music.

Themepark Obsession is pointing out a lot of parade float quality issues on his IG story:

Unfortunately regardless of our opinions on how Starlight can be improved the problem is unless there is a very large amount of guests that feel the same way as we do I don’t think anything will be done. It did happen with Harmonious although that was a very different situation and I do not think Starlight needs to be torn apart and thrown in a dumpster, it just need things added to it and adjustments. Time will tell what happens.

People complaining about the Wish float, but honestly it's not that bad. Frozen is worse. That's the worst Frozen float i've seen in a night parade so far. Though not for the reasons that ThemeparkObsession is saying. It's the ice pattern (with video projection) on top of the float that I think looks ugly. I don't have any real complaints about the light strands, the straight grid-like patterns of PtN are one of the reasons I dislike that parade.

Oh this isn’t Harmonious- Harmonious was a disaster in every sense of the word. This is a nice parade - just didn’t have the “wow” I was expecting. If they can have Peter and Wendy fly regularly, that would help.

Agreed. Paint the night frozen float has 3 characters plus better lighting effects.

Yeah, he pointed out a fair amount of floats with what I would deem… messy lines, expose metal, etc.
Some of things he pointed out aren't what I have a problem with. It's the blocky bits of ice they project video onto that looks bad. Frozen is one of one two floats in PtN that I actually like (along with Beauty and the Beast). And yes PtN's Frozen float is better (though neither are as good as Dreamlights). I think it comes down to expecting to see the ice palace here, and this is just a very geometric pattern. Ironically, the same complaints I have about most of PtN's other floats being overly blocky and geometric aren't particularly present in PtN's Frozen float, but ARE present in Starlight's Frozen float. Starlight's Frozen float would fit better with the rest of PtN, and PtN's Frozen float would fit better with the rest of Starlight...

Broadly speaking though, I like that the strands of light look less "perfect" per se, they're more natural and organic. PtN's perfectly straight grids of light are one of the many thing I dislike about the parade.

That said, the curved railings that appear to have breaks in them, that definitely doesn't look correct. They look damaged...

Also….. the parade is pretty much completely out of order…. It should start with the train and end with blue fairy. My opinion of course! Haha
That wouldn't work based on the story, much in the same way that the Hatbox Ghost is out of place in MK's Haunted Mansion. The Blue Fairy creates the conditions for the characters to appear much in the same way Madame Leota manifests the ghosts.
