Very interesting to hear Iger share that near 30 million guests walk through those gates every year… they don’t normally say specific numbers. He mentioned at the opening ceremony today, and in that GMA interview.

So does this mean the numbers we get from TEA/AECOM are that wildly off?!?

Anyone have a sense of these numbers Iger is saying? @wdwmagic @lentesta @DCBaker ?
I've followed "the numbers" for about 20 years as a coaster dork, and the consensus has always been that the real numbers are often wildly off from what is actually posted. The only Disney-related numbers that appear to be legitimate (or at least, are recognized as the most legitimate) are those reported by OLC for the Tokyo parks.

And Disney's far from the only one in that situation. The likelihood that the numbers "officially posted" are legitimate from anyone is pretty slim.

I mean, if Disneyland gets 30 million a year, that is wild…

Can somebody please explain why the NYSE opening bell has a part in this? Is it an American tradition for big companies, for example? I'm genuinely looking for a serious answer, before anyone gets it in their heads to joke about Di$$$sney lol
Yes it’s a tradition for the exchange to have a company ring the bell that coincides with some announcement or celebration that day.

The NYSE bell has been rung by a wide range of individuals, including company executives, public figures, celebrities, and even fictional characters. In the past, floor managers would ring the bell, but now it's common to see notable figures from various fields participate. Examples include business titans, politicians, film stars, and even the Muppet Miss Piggy, according to Inc.com.

He is definitely quoting resort wide combined DCA + DL.
