Walt Disney – A Magical Life

Those people are not acknowledging though. They are attempting to explain why Walt’s face is good enough. Also could be described as “settling.”
So no answer, got it.

And in response, I’ll actually answer, “settling” would be saying “well guess this is the best Disney could do, oh well let’s move on”. And no one is doing that. Sure maybe some are trying explain why things happen or why they can understand how it doesn’t look exactly like Walt. But I don’t call that “settling”. But as I said, to each their own.

Ok just know your definitions/ opinions don’t match up with the majority. The majority would call that “settling.” The same way the majority would say that the new Trump AA looks much more like Trump than the Walt AA looks like Walt.

As I said to each their own. People tend to create their own definitions to match their opinions rather than use what’s reality, but not talking about me here. But it’s ok.

But I’d still like an answer, especially since I was a good sport and answered yours. What would you have any of us do? I mean we’re here endless debating this, so what more is expected? And note I’m on your side here, I don’t think it’s an acceptable face, but there is not much I can do about it. So what would you have us do?

Well who are we talking about? You have acknowledged that Walt's face looks bad. The others that were quoted have not. There's nothing anyone can do about it. All most of us want is to engage in conversations that are in good faith. If you don't think those quoted are "settling" fine but you get one of these emoji's for that

Yikes, as I said in my original post...some. Disagree or agree, I don't care at this point. Are we done?
For the record, I think I'm sold. Here is official Disney content ride-through of Tiana in DL on Disney+. They're not even checking their own content before posting. Edit: While I can't link to D+, I promise this is NOT this poster's video. It is indeed the official ride-through posted on D+. First Walt's face. Now this. Wow. Just wow.

Now the rolling eyes I would call settling in this discussion lol.

Anyways, it’s why these debates about fans “settling” for things Disney does never go anywhere. It’s like ok, you don’t want us to settle so what would you have us do? It’s not like our merry band of posters here has any input or power to change things. So other than a boycott, which we know doesn’t work, there isn’t much any of us can do other than to fill hundreds of pages in endless debate about silly things, which we already do.

You know what's funny?

Eeeek. Not sure what else to say. 😂 It’s not funny but not sure how to react?

The audio is just... like the face, ever so slightly off. It's Walt... but just... something off. I moreso noticed the audio being seemingly disconnected from the animatronic in place and quality. I'm watching it on a phone yes, but this was an immediately noticed thing. When watching any other animatronic the same way, most recent is the new Trump animatronic this issue didn't immediately jump out to me.

I see it as Imagineers ran the audio through every AI website they're subscribed to and chose the best one the committee voted for. Versus actual talented people tweaking and articulating audio late into endless nights doing their darndest to get it prefect.

Probably never ran it by people who actually heard walt and got any constructive feedback. Because they're old or something.

The face to me is quite jarring though. Hairline is off, hair (eyebrows) is too full, and the face is too wide as well as the neck. Little things that seemingly could have been tweaked to perfection.

I find the comment about the Jack Sparrow animatronics interesting when the statement is "Well, Jack Sparrow is a character and that's why he looks good". We have tons of footage, high quality, closeups, of Jack Sparrow through multiple films... and again, even the worst animatronic is still Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp.

So, if the Walt animatronic were Walt portraying Jack Sparrow, would it work then?

One thing obvious in all this... without a doubt... if I or anyone on this board had made the animatronic, it would be absolutely perfect without question. Because I know best.

Checked out for a few months and decided to check back in here for the 70th...lol. Just about what I expected. As for Walt, I really don't have an issue with it. Disney hardcores are likely the only ones that will take up 44 pages on a board debating/complaining about it. It looks like him to me...just with a broader face. Overall, the presentation is very well done. I think people can't see the forest for the trees as in typical Disney fan nature, folks are fixating on his face vs the message/content of the show. If Disney wants to "improve" it, they will. If not, the complainers should just avoid it.

I don't think it's a matter of checking content. It's been this way for a while if I remember correctly. Not sure if it's been fixed since. That being said, I'm not sure I'll ever watch it again because that animatronic isn't operating properly.

So maybe they shouldn’t upload a ride through to Disney + where the main character in the main show scene isn’t working? Just a thought.

Then they shouldn't have made the video. It doesn't help the Disney brand to show malfunctioning attractions.
Yes, everything should be working. But man, how many people outside of hardcore fans are going to notice? Very few. And I really can't believe that anyone's viewing would be destroyed by this.

Except if you read the thread the face is almost universally acknowledged to be bad. So again I come back to who is "settling"? And then the follow-up question would be, what would you have any of us here do about it after its acknowledged? Its not like we can go in and update it ourselves (let alone know if anyone here really has the skills to be able to do any better). Nor can we make Disney do anything about it. So again I ask what are we to do other than to post endless about it, as we're doing now?

And yes maybe they shouldn't have opened it with that face, but we're here now, so we're beyond that point.
What would any of us do? Hummmmmm

I guess just accept it and end this discussion. Is that the end game ? Was it you (sincere question) that said since we are not AA experts so we should not comment? Not sure if it was but someone said that. Even if we were experts, it would not within our means to correct it 'ourselves" so.... Your point is to accept it and just end this discussion of what they could have and should have done better.

I would rather critique and apply gentle pressure to do better in the hopes that next time..... They do.
