That’s not how “expansion” works though. An expanded menu at a restaurant has more options, not different options that the chef thinks will be more popular.

Universal's EPIC universe is putting parks back into the theme park

Yeah no thanks, Celestial Park is so ehhh. I go to the parks to ride the rides and enjoy the theming. This will do both for me.Universal's EPIC universe is putting parks back into the theme park

In EPIC, Celestial Park is beautiful.
In EPCOT, in World Celebration Gardens we have an ugly planter and broken in ground lighting. I really do miss the fountain of Nations.
But I understand.
A lot of folks go to amusement parks like 6 flags and WDW to go on rides and purchasing LLs makes it easier to get on the rides at WDW.

I find Celestial Park honestly not very pretty. Like who tf designed a "park" with the ugliest Las Vegas hotel looming over it. That doesn't feel like a park just because Universal told you it was. I live in NY and I've seen some real NICE parks that aren't nearly as ugly. Not to mention the complete mashup of different styles and ideas, I just don't like the look of it. Feels very loosely tied together with a generic "space" theme... but in a park?

I totally get it.
I have to say, as unattractive as some find Celestial Park, I find the rust finish all over Celebrations Gardens in EPCOT really unattractive.
I know many folks do not like fountains. I really miss the fountain of Nations. Maybe they removed it so EPCOT looks less like Vegas?

The hotel looks amazing in person and fits the vibe -- and the park is wonderful too. I can't wait for more foliage to continue to grow in, it will be truly even more special. Also, winter may be an amazing time to be there with earlier sunsets, so the amazing light packages can really be seen!

Art is subjective so it makes sense you would have different tastes. I find Celebration Gardens "good enough", it's not trying to be anything it's not. But I don't think the right direction for this argument is to go "Hey this thing at Universal kinda sucks" and then "Oh yeah? Well thing at Disney sucks too!" and around and around again. I think it's okay to say we have different tastes and neither of us will ever convince the other to switch up on their tastes and that's okay. It's what makes us different. All in all, I'm just happy to have some friendly competition in Florida. Both of the companies clearly respect each others work and there are less than stellar parts of each park and some amazing parts as well. Rising tides raise all ships after all so I can only hope Universal improves to keep Disney on their toes and you should hope Disney improves for you to keep Universal on theirs.I totally get it.

I've been there in person, just got back around 2 days ago and my opinion did not change at all. I tried to like it because I do generally like the "non-IP" stuff from both parks or a fun connecting storyline.
Yes, please use the plural.
There are two attractions going: The RoA which includes the Riverboat and its dioramas, and TSI.
It's being replaced by 3 rides (and maybe a kiddie ride/playground). And the amenities of a "land" with food service and stores.
The new area and land will take up 14 acres. That's three more than RoA/TSI is using. And the capacity will be greatly increased both in being engaged with an attraction and just space to mill about.

It isn't Walt Disney's MK. In application it hasn't been his MK for a very long time....if ever.
WD died at the end of 1966, basically only a year after WDW was announced, and long before it opened. The vast majority of WDW parks worldwide have nothing to do with Walt Disney. He had a great vision, but he's been dead for 60 years. Society, technology, business, have all changed since is death in unimaginable ways and the Disney company changes with it. No one sits around asking if Henry Ford would agree with or make the same decisions Ford does today. No one is asking if Marcus Loew would be making the same movies that MGM puts out. Hell the IP that forms a major basis of what people think of when you mention Disney, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Frozen, Aladdin, all were 20years+ after WD's death. He was a great filmmaker and started a great company....a long time ago.

Totally agree, competition between Disney and Universal in Florida should help the the guest experience in both.
Its my personal wish (and only my personal wish) that in EPCOT, they get rid of that ugly planter with broken in ground and replace it with a big beautiful fountain.
If the fountain was back I am willing to ignore the ugly rust finish all over the place. (just my personal opinion).

Taking it all together. The entire project Cars + Villains.
If the point was about Piston Peak only and how that alone is an expansion, I think that is hard to argue and more of an equaling out
I just don't think Piston Peak would happen if the main part (whatever would be done beyond it, Villains Land or whatever) wasn't happening so I look at is as one big project

To be fair, it’s unusual for people to criticize something that’s hypothetical because it doesn’t exist yet.Now Disney's hypothetical rock work is so exceptional, it can't be criticized!
