I liked the Muppets show, but it didn't resonate with DL's audience like it did in WDW. I'd bet DL locals are more nostalgic for ITTBAB/ Bug's Land if DLR wants to play the nostalgia card. But yeah, let's get something new instead, let's move forward.

Realistically in your mind how much nostalgia is there for Muppets in DLR? I mean wasn't the show basically empty all the time when it was open? So would would be different other than the first few days its open and the nostalgia glasses have worn off? Wouldn't it also then play to empty theaters the rest of the "season"?

I wasn't a huge fan. Much preferred ITTBAB but I think with it going down in WDW and considering we still have the theatre the show played in here it's an easy win. Even if its for a limited time run of a couple months a year for a few years.

So you really think just having them playing it seasonal would be enough to have an in-flux of WDW fans flocking for a 15 minute show to warrant the cost?

I cant imagine the cost is that high. It's just a matter of getting those AA's in there again..and thats if they have been removed. Then after that, they would be hidden from guests view during whatever show is playing on the screen until Muppet season.

I just can't imagine there is that much interest in the Muppets at DLR, and can't imagine that many WDW fans flying across country just for a 15 minute show.

Remember we're talking about the same company that can't be bothered to spend $2-3M on a dragon replacement for F!, a much more popular show, and I imagine this would cost around the same. As mentioned before the show is assumed to be ripped out completely due to the theater being reused for that Frozen show at the time that needed the entire stage. So many of those AAs would likely need to be rebuilt.

Tiki at DL is full most days, especially during the summer. Muppets wasn't, especially toward the end. Lincoln might have be more comparable but even that is now likely to be more full than Muppets ever was at least initially upon return.

Well thats the big question how much damage they did removing them. Im not sure why the AA's would need to be rebuilt if they were removed carefully. Anyway, no worries. I'll tell them to cancel.

Speaking as someone who loves the Muppets, MuppetVision was ...really nice. But it wasn't Henson's best work (it wasn't even his best Muppet work). Most of the fondness for MV comes from nostalgia for memorable lines ("But mostly America") but comedy in theme parks needs to stay fresh. In an alternate timeline, Jim Henson wouldn't have died, they would have built the Muppet Movie Ride, then after about 20 years of MV, it would have been refreshed with Kermit's next 3D film (you know, around 2010).

I'm sorry, but its time has come and gone.

Lol, its not like we have any say in it. If Disney had any indication that bringing it back to DCA would lead to full or even half full shows I'm sure it would be there, even if seasonally.

Sometimes things from the past, as fine an idea as it might be, aren't likely to return for simple reasons, in this case the audience is not likely there beyond the first initial nostalgia boost. For example I'd love for Adventures Thru Inner Space to return, but I know that I'm in the very small minority that would be interested and the rest of the general public would skip it.

I mean maybe there is half a dozen empty seats, but that is basically at capacity to me. I'm sure there are times its less full, just like the rest of the Park. But I don't think I've ever seen it completely empty, unlike some other shows we've been talking about.

Tiki at DL isn't like at WDW, it usually gets a crowd is my point.
