Why drop these kinds of links? Am I supposed to go and wonder what they think?
If that content creator wants to discuss with us what he thinks, he could be here doing so.
wonder if there’s a difference between wax sculpting and a robotHere's the Walt Disney figure from Orlando's Madame Tussaud's.

See, Imagineering? There's no excuse. Maybe hire the sculptor who created this wonderful likeness and fire the hack who desecrated Walt with that hideous ghoulish AA.
Walt was a businessman who knew about IP. He could have put it in writing, in a contract, not to be made into an AA if he felt that strongly about it. He did not. He would've known that hearsay doesn't count. This was discussed previously in this thread, but the Disney Family sold Walt's name and likeness rights back to the company in 1982. So basically other than getting a "blessing" (which they did as I recall though some were against it) they don't really have to contact the family for this project.
Yep, which is why I think these stories of him being against any image of himself in the Parks are overblown. This is the man who named the Park after himself after all.Walt was a businessman who knew about IP. He could have put it in writing, in a contract, not to be made into an AA if he felt that strongly about it. He did not. He would've known that hearsay doesn't count.
Full performance of the Walt Disney AA from Attractions Magazine (complete with Iger's narration) minus the muted audio near the end.
Putting aside it doesn’t look exactly like Walt, I like it from what I see here.
Eisner liked theme parks and saw them as important. Iger doesn’t like theme parks and his first instinct was to try to sell them off for not being core businesses. He’s since realized they make a ton of money but still sees them as stupid entertainment for stupid people. But in the same breath I can say that we have seen additions of some great things and some terrible things under Iger as well. I just really can’t get behind the idea that because Michael Eisner was more creative that he somehow a whole universe away from Bob Iger. I would honestly say Eisner has much more in common with Bob Iger than he ever did Walt.
Boggles the mind. The ego on that guy. For all we know, it was what made him sign off on it.LOL wait, Bob Igers lines are just Julie Andrew’s re-recorded lines from One Man’s Dream? You have to be kidding me. And they thought this was a good idea to replace Julie Andrew’s voice with Bob Igers?
Only one person thought it was a good idea-LOL wait, Bob Igers lines are just Julie Andrew’s re-recorded lines from One Man’s Dream? You have to be kidding me. And they thought this was a good idea to replace Julie Andrew’s voice with Bob Igers?
If you want to skip Iger in that clip, jump to 1:33.I was encouraged by your post. Pressed play and fast forwarded it a bit. Heard Igers voice and immediately turned it off. What a miss.
Or at least a contract not to be made into *that* AA.Walt was a businessman who knew about IP. He could have put it in writing, in a contract, not to be made into an AA if he felt that strongly about it. He did not. He would've known that hearsay doesn't count.
Yes, sadly, Iger had to horn his way into this somehow.I was encouraged by your post. Pressed play and fast forwarded it a bit. Heard Igers voice and immediately turned it off. What a miss.

I might regret asking this, but what's the big issue with Iger narrating? Does he introduce himself as Bob Iger at the start of the show (if he did and keep comparing himself to Walt Disney, then I could see the isssue) or is he just an unnamed narrator for the show? I know the posters for the who don't advertise Iger and unless I was on these boards, I would not have known it was the current CEO of the company. Ideally Julie Andrews would have reprised her role as it is an updated One Man's Dream followed by the animatronic, but clearly she was either too busy or didn't want to return to narrate another show at a Disney Park
See, that makes sense if you don't like his voice/think he's a good narrator, thanks. I agree he's not the person I think of for narrating a show about Walt Disney's life. The only reason I asked was that I was only seeing people saying it was about his ego and him as a person, and it felt more like they were hating on him as being a CEO that contributed to the show rather than his actual contribution and if it fitted. You really don’t understand why? His voice doesn’t below on a show like this. He’s also not a particularly good narrator. Don’t enjoy the sound of his voice. On top of that to replace an iconic voice like Julie Andrew’s is criminal.
