Those are all quite smaller than your average parade float. You also have to take into account that 90 degree turn, which is too sharp for most parade floats. Sure, if you did just car characters, and some tweener floats they would work. Cars Land just wasn’t built for parade viewing though.
The point is that it is possible for example to start most Oogie Boogie floats there is needed. So there are ways to have a parade start or even finish in Cars Land if needed.

I had a similar thought, I think they could theoretically do a parade but they’d be seriously limited in how large the floats could be. That 90 degree turn would limit the float length to probably 30’ or less, many of Disneys large floats are 2 to 3 times that length, they’d also have height limitations due to the traffic signal and streetlights, they’d probably have to limit the viewing areas also due to width reasons, they don’t let anyone watch the parade next to the Matterhorn (with the exception of the bathroom area) for safety reasons and the path prior to the Main Street has a similar width.

They “could” do it but I’m not sure they “would” because it would be more of a cavalcade than a true parade.

From what I’ve been told, most of FFP would not make it. It would be greatly reduced. Like I said, not saying that they can’t do something, just that a full parade will not work.

I guess the question is, are most floats much larger than Red -

Because as you can see he clearly can make it without an issue, even with the 90 degree turn. And given his size, that would indicate to me at least that a fairly large float could also fit. But maybe he is smaller than most floats, I dunno.

Mack the Truck from PTN has done the DCA route, I highly doubt he would make that turn.

Massively larger, that fire engine is probably 12’ tall and 20’ long, for comparison here’s some of the Festival of Fantasy floats sizes…

The Princess float is 50’ long.
The Tangled float is 36’ long.
The Maleficent dragon is 53’ long and 26’ tall.
The Peter Pan float is 28’ tall.
The Hot Air ballon float is 32’ tall.

And those aren’t even the largest floats in Disney parades…

The Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel released a video of the new Disney Starlight Parade and it looks incredible. Exciting to see a new nighttime parade coming back to WDW.

"Tall" wouldn't be the issue though right? It would be how long it would be. And maybe some of those float wouldn't work, but it wouldn't be the first time that floats were removed from a parade at DCA for not fitting. So it is possible, which is the point I was trying to make.

Depends on how high the traffic signal, street lights, and wires are…

The bottom of that traffic light looks to be about 2-3 Maters high, and he’s only about 10’ tall judging by pictures with people coming up to his eyeballs, so maybe 20’-30’ would be the height limit.

Like I said earlier it’s technically possible, I just think it would end up being more of a cavalcade than a Parade. Most of the cavalcade floats should fit, most of the parade floats wouldn’t though.

Again as mentioned it wouldn't be the first time they axed a float from a parade in DCA for being too tall, remember the Frozen float was removed from PtN for that very reason when it went to DCA.

I have figured out what I want to happen to Hollywoodland after Avatar. Turn it into Muppet's Hollywood. Replace Animation Building with The Great Muppet Movie Ride. Bring Muppetvision back to Philhar. Have tons of fun Muppet gags throughout the land. Hyperion can stay for now but eventually go to Avatar for a second attraction.

I'd prefer they just create a new experience in that space. Give me experiences that will stand the test of time, not old experiences which couldn't.

I think there is room for both. Replace Philharmagic with a new quality show and bring back Muppetvision a couple months a year. Considering it was previously in that theater and its loyal fanbase (mostly from WDW) it's not a bad idea. Certainly beats playing Philhamagic all year to 2/3 empty theaters. Have the old nostalgic thing be the little incentive that gets people in that theatre in March/ April like they do with Soarin Over California. Except of course with Soarin they have it backwards. Soarin Around the World should be the food n wine offering and California should play for the rest of the year. With that said Soarin Over California could use an update.
