MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I do hope there is some storyline as to why the Villains are all together in one spot and why guests are welcome there.

. Yes, it was built as an E ticket, it just isn’t as popular as WDW hoped.

Definitions of "major" are even fuzzier than the criteria for E-tickets, which is probably why they used that word.

Scandals Resort lol, love it. This is why I visit these forums!

I know it’s modern Disney so they will, but I wish they wouldn’t give Villians land some cringe backstory that limits them creatively (looking at you, GE) and instead it’s just like a dark fantasyland

So what would be a cringe backstory for you? All they’ve said so far is that the villains are summoned by a spell.

Making a land that prohibits your most popular characters by far from making an appearance has to go down as one of the dumbest decisions Disney Parks has ever made.

I think cringe isn’t the right word here, I should have said convoluted or something along those lines. I just think they sometimes bog themselves down and limit themselves when they make these reaching, ultra specific stories for lands/rides

A show can't be a major attraction? I would argue Nemo, FOTLK, Fantasmic, ect. are all major attractions

Fantasmic maybe.... The others were just park shows...Not that they were not nice...but none of them were Major Attractions.... I might go to the park for something on the scale of Fantasmic or Disneyland's original World Of Color...but definitely not for the others.

IMHO... Major ≠ Headliner.

Again all my opinion, but Headliners:
MK: Tron, Space, Mansion, Pirates
EPCOT: GotG, maybe TT
DHS: ROTR, TOT
AK: Safari, FOP, and Everest

I don't expect Villains to have 2 headliners... but I think Disney would call anything that is more than a flat ride or an older animatronic show or 3D show, a "major" attraction.

We don't need any more motivation other than it is a part of the Magic Kingdom that is open...
and if you don't want to go see the Villains, you don't have to. Motivation can be as simple as we have wandered into the dark side of Fantasyland... no tortured story to explain it....The Villains have all been banished out of Fantasyland and to the Dark Side....and Disney's version will be silly and a tiny bit scary...but not very..... Like Hocus Pocus.....
Disney's version of the Villains is never going to be graphic or scary....and the things that don't appeal to toddlers will appeal to them in a couple years... Not every attraction or area can appeal to absolutely everyone from 3-80...lol
It is fine to have things that 12 year old kids will find thrilling that may be too much for a 5 year old.
And that is the thing about the Magic Kingdom...there are other lands and other attractions....as long as they continue to add, and not just replace...

If the Villians show at DHS is any indication of where they are headed with this…. Not sure how excited I am. I know I’m late with that opinion but just got around to seeing it.

Dr Faciliers VooDoo Lounge would be a fabulous spot for a cocktail on the Other Side....... a la Mask Room at the Adventurer's Club... Just sayin'. I know a lot of people that would love a little adult only beverage and snack at the MK.....and where else would be more appropriate than in the Villain's lair? Sure, have an adjacent all ages something or other.... but a black magic adults spot would be pretty terrific...
