They used to do the MSEP, the projection show, and Wishes on the same night. Often with multiple showings of the parade and the projection show.
Yes but you have to remember Wishes was also a shorter show and it was only about 12 minutes long and happily ever after is 18 minutes plus the exit music so it takes longer. And the crowds with fireworks has just gotten even heavier since wishes was still there.

The crowds are only busier for the fireworks because of a dearth of nighttime entertainment at MK. With this new parade it will alleviate the fireworks some. One or two showings of the projection show would help this more.

I guess so, but it's it kind of redundant to have a projection show when happily ever after already has plenty of projections, plus if added another show back I doubt they would have projections down main Street, plus OUAT is a pretty old show. I guess if they wanted a quick and easy way to add a show they could just run Enchantment projections only with maybe a few castle level pyro.

So there’s been two full rehearsals and nobody is speaking a word not even a hint what the soundtrack is like? Lol. Jk. Overall I hope it’s a earworm and very catchy.
I'm surprised nobody is talking about the electrical version of Starlight's theme song in the background of yesterday's Imagineering episode. A simple but fun nod to MSEP!

Perhaps but I'm not really sure what's new about that. Haven't they been doing that for all parades since the original Main Street electrical parade? Or is it that now they just have it more advanced to be able to do it on its own? I'm not sure how that was new but what do I know.
I thought that was with the pucks imbedded in the streets. Starlight will require more complicated synchronization than our previous parades.

I don't really know, but all I know is that whenever I watch Festival of Fantasy or paint the night, the specific music for that float plays out of the speakers around the street not just the float it's self so I don't know.

I think parade audio is handled the same for this. For the lights it would just be an additional signal(s) being sent out for the float to detect. Paint the Night hides it better, but in recordings of shows like Mickey's Dazzling Christmas parade you can see the antennas sticking out to read anything being sent.

It is used for Festival of Fantasy. It wasn’t used for MSEP, which only played unit audio out of floats and background audio out of street speakers.
Ok, so basically what they showed in the video is what they do for all of their modern parades and they were just showing how it's sort of evolved from the electrical parade?

Yes. Boo to You and OUACP still use the old system. New parades are built with the gps system, but it is expensive to refit old parades with the technology.
