In the video, they said the outfits they were showing were the royal court dancers. In the rehearsal footage, the dancers were in front of the Coco float, which is after the princesses. So they were probably still working on that float when this was filmed.

I don't think it is 100% that he is full on hosting, but will be at the end to say goodbye ... Could be like starts off with welcome from Blue Fairy and then the send off from Jiminy

The combination of Wishes and Spectro was such an incredible nighttime experience for the Magic Kingdom. Jiminy Cricket really felt like our host for the evening. And he was a great host too

Would love if Jiminy or the Blue Fairy hosted this parade too

"Whimsy" seems to be miss. Like what's the point? If just a train with a face why not use Casey Jr? If the character itself morphs into other shapes, why not Morph, or that magical star thing from Wish or even Figment. A Figment float would be highly appropriate here. Not sure I really get the need for this rando character addition. Unlike say Hollywood Studio's Ollie, which felt more like an authentic, organic addition.

Still early yet, but I guess I don't get it. Is Whimsy's presence being woven throughout the Starlight parade?

They heard everyone on this board complaining that “whimsy” was missing without actually explaining themselves satisfactorily and figured it was a character they’d forgotten about.

Not sure I totally get it either but they seem to want to add new characters to things, guess for merch (Ollie, Ranger J. Autobahn, Chuuby, now Whimsy)

Will say the face of Whimsy reminds me of Toodles from Mickey Mouse Fun house

I think they just wanted to give it a name (maybe future merchandise but who knows). There are some distinctions between it and Casey Jr which is probably why they didn't use that. Though it is obvious "Whimsy" is inspired by Casey Jr.

I like the train being an original thing. I don't like the name.

It feels like naming him "Affordable" or "Really Good Dark Ride".

It is in guest view. But what it’s for is not public knowledge and there’s no reason to attract attention to it.
