Walt Disney – A Magical Life

Disneyland has announced "Walt Disney – A Magical Life" will use a Virtual Queue - here are the details:

Beginning July 17, 2025, a virtual queue will be in place for Walt Disney – A Magical Life, a new attraction on Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland Park that explores the life and legacy of Walt Disney.

Guests will need to use the Disneyland app to request to join the queue. A standby queue will not be available while the virtual queue is in use. Each Guest can request to enter this virtual queue no more than once per day.

There are 2 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue for Walt Disney – A Magical Life:
  • 7:00 AM – Guests must have a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a one-park ticket or a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper ticket
  • 12:00 PM (Noon) – Guests in Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park with a Park Hopper ticket
Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Walt Disney – A Magical Life. Showtimes are subject to change or cancellation.

Interesting that they now allow those starting at DCA to join in on the 7am fun.

I would assume that park hopper rules still apply. So if you snag one for 10am for example and you're locked out until 11am because you started in DCA you won't be able to get in early.

But if I'm reading it correctly, I don't think those starting at DCA will be eligible for the 7am drop.

I doubt it. You can’t hop over until 11am. Why would they change the process unless they’ve come up with a way to assign park hoppers with VQs for only 11am and after?

You missed my update.

That to me indicates that it requires Disneyland as your starting Park.

rotate on reset. I'm guessing it gets stuck on one or other for a while.
Then doubt it, since its a marquee show it'll get fix pretty quickly.

Also we won't know how the turntable is going to work until sometime next year at the earliest I would guess. As its going to be the Walt show exclusively during the 70th, so no need for the turntable usage unless its used as part of the nightly storage operation.

Under 7am It’s literally stating that if you have a park hopper ticket you can try at 7am.

@Disney Irish if we are reading this literally I think I’m correct but I see where this can be misinterpreted.

7:00 AM – Guests must have a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a one-park ticket or a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper ticket

It’s saying if you have a reservation for that day with a park hopper. Nothing about starting park.

This is no different than any other virtual queue in the past.

7am = anyone with a Disneyland Park reservation

12pm = anyone who has already scanned into one of the two parks and has valid admission to Disneyland Park today

Having a park reservation for Disneyland Park means that it's your starting park. It's the same thing

Most likely as thats a lot more probable than them changing the tech to accommodate people starting at DCA with VQs. Still though, if read literally than it’s stating that anyone with a reservation for that day can try at 7am.

But why mention parkhoppers at all if you have to be starting at Disneyland? Again, it’s worded terribly if you guys are right which I suspect you are.

I think you're missing the part where it says "a reservation for Disneyland Park"

You must hold a Disneyland Park reservation to join the virtual queue at 7 AM. It doesn't seem confusing to me at all...

Yes you re right I probably glossed over “reservation for Disneyland park” and went right to parkhoppers. Why not be clear and say “starting park” though? And if you have to be starting at Disneyland why mention park hoppers at all? Obviously if the person with the cheaper one park ticket has access to the 7am queue than the person with the more expensive parkhopper ticket should have access too.
