runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend

What ended up happening to the Ohana Challenge? How did that end up being a Baymax medal? I'm curious because I'm not sure if I want to try for an easter trip next year or just come for Springtime surprise with my son, and he's super into the Jumba's experiments. If they truly had a short distance Stitch themed race I'd think there was a chance. He was very jealous of my photos with the experiments from the half this January.

I'm hoping they release the themes a bit earlier this year since the registration is moving up.

Springtime themes change yearly. The challenge was themed to Stitch in 2024. 2026 will be the 5th anniversary. A lot of people are hoping for a Star Wars theme.

Themes are released roughly two weeks before registration.

Oh, that was 24. I went back to find the themes and grabbed the wrong year. Now it makes a lot more sense.

In looking at the dates for next year, it shows the weekend from 4/16-4/20. That would include Monday. Should I assume that's Yoga Monday like they seem to be doing with princess weekend?

Been a while since I’ve posted in the thread I started. Are we still thinking the leading theory for the 5th anniversary is Star Wars? Do we think they announce it next week? I was able to participate in the inaugural year as well as Pixar. Then I ran the third year virtually.

Based on what I have heard I would not expect Star Wars unfortunately...

I would expect next week yes.

The themes have leaked, and are circulating. It’s not Star Wars but I am happy with a few of the choices.

Particularly the 10K and Challenge.

And it lines up with what I was told.

I am not a fan of continually reusing Aladdin/Genie. Inside Out is also being used for the Disneyland Half weekend this year. So many other Duos they could've used.

Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?
Here's what allegedly leaked in case anyone hasn't seen it yet. Again, still unconfirmed for now.

Also in the category of "maybe we'll find out sometime soon," I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do something for Perfect Status now that this will be year #5. I know that back in year #1 people asked and got the "we have not made any decisions" responses and took that as a confirmed "No." But, I think that runDisney was just trying to keep people from complaining in anticipation that, if they had ended up switching to a different theme after 3-4 years (since this originally seemed like it might be a place holder), people would be screaming about how they spent so much money signing up for the challenge for years because they expected legacy status.
