MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

So at this point, they have mentioned the possibility of 2 attractions in each of the new lands but have not specified...So if there really is only one attraction in each of these new lands we are exactly where we were... I am sure the Villains ride, whatever that is, will be more exciting than the River Boat, likewise the Cartoon Cars Mountain Adventure...

That role is filled by CoP, TTAPM and Swiss Family at MK. (Although I wouldn’t mind if Swiss was replaced).

The need for attractions that people don’t want to experience? That’s not good for anything.
It’s A Small World is an attraction that doesn’t run at full capacity. TSI and the Riverboat are attractions a significant portion of visitors actively avoided.
There is a huge difference between the two.

I think if they can really make this new area look like some version of Grizzly Peak with streams, waterfalls, large trees etc than it will help most people will move on. The problem is you are going to have to get rid of so many mature trees and they will undoubtedly be replaced with fewer and much smaller trees. With so much loss of water, shade and mature trees it’s going to be hard to not feel like the “wilderness” part of Frontierland didn’t get a major downgrade. In no way do I think a Cars D ticket will offset this. This will most likely be viewed as a pretty big downgrade until Villains land opens up. Villains land presents its own set of challenges as well. I’m not sure Disney is going to deliver the type of PG 13 Villains land most people here would want. That new show at DHS doesn’t inspire much confidence.
I'm rather exhausted to the point that I don't really want to argue about utter nonsense like this today, but swing and a huge miss on your Lakeshore "thought".

That LB/RoA had less of a novelty factor to WDW guests because of other similar experiences available, unlike other castle parks.
You may be right about spatial design, but we wont know until Cars and Villains land opens. I joke about Cars area, but I think it will turnout better than some fans expect, and Villains land even more so.
Nonsense. That poster just showed that they adding a net ***THREE*** attractions around the entire resort over a decade. If that doesn't show that Bob and Josh understand capacity problems at their amusement parks...

No they didn’t. The entire reason this is happening is because people didn’t.
We can discuss the aesthetics that river and the boat brought to that area of the park all day. That is something that can be objectively bantered about. What we can’t do is say those two attractions garnered enough foot traffic that their replacement will actually lower experienced capacity upon completion.

The design of the space isn’t rooted in some novelty factor.
They’re building a wall to block it off, the very opposite of how the space was laid out. That’s not really a receipt for success, especially when combined with the lousy track record that has persisted for years now.

No, no, no-nobody has been on that island since 1983. Didn't you know that? It's like the Rocket Rods/Peoplemover at DL-sitting there empty, and crumbling, like a ghost. In fact, it's the least visited Disney attraction in history. /s

Yes, people used both attractions. A lot of people. You’re engaging in absurd hyperbole because you’re trying to defend a weak position.
Absolutely no one said the replacement attractions will experience lower capacity. That isn’t the argument I made and it isn’t the argument you’ve been making until now. The point is that removing capacity whenever you add capacity does not demonstrate that you are particularly concerned with increasing capacity.

This is another key point. They can block the entrance to Muppet Courtyard and hope most guests forget about it and, sadly, they probably will. The RoA area will be an unprecedentedly huge and unavoidable eyesore for years, a fact that will keep the closure fresh in guests mind and emphasize the aesthetic damage being done to the area.
