Trip Report Tu in ‘25

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tu in ‘25

These lyrics came to mind when I thought about my trip reporting. (I also thought, Here we go AGAIN but the above sounds much more poignant.) It’s now that time of year when my Disney trips are frequent. And this Disney Senior loves sharing her visits with y’all because your engagement makes it fun!

Yes, there will be stuff that’s the same. Yes, there will be surprises (too soon for the reveals). And yes, there will be sun rises!

Spring break countdown is at 4 days.

Since this intro needs a picture, here are Tu.

I am still very curious about the spritz???
Mosquito spray? (Bad aim!) Glass cleaner? (Getting a head start on the dishes?) An odorless, colorless nerve agent meant for a spy at another table?

I was too lazy to do this on my own TR, but I just Googled it to see the ingredients.

AI told me this:

Huh? Never trust the AI overview.

Not on the menu, eh? Well, it’s there, but none of those ingredients strike me as “spritzeresque” (and I was a bartender as well.) I’ve never seen spritzed bitters before!

It must have been actual pixie dust. Atomized!

I’m sure guests who are unfamiliar with the original show will find the new show entertaining. Kids will enjoy it. And hallelujah that DHS has another attraction open - with the added plus of being a people-eater.

It just wasn’t our thing.
Yes! I was underwhelmed. And I feel like I didn't have unreasonable expectations. It just didn't hit the mark for me.

Em and I did head over to Magic Kingdom. But it wasn't to watch HEA.

It was to catch the ferry back to Wilderness Lodge. We just didn't have the energy to fight the crowds during the post-show exodus.

Our decision was rewarded with a majestic sunset while onboard the boat.

Not only that, but sweet, thoughtful Tony sent me his fireworks pictures from Wailulu. Em and I didn't miss out on "seeing" fireworks tonight after all!

The atmosphere in Fantasyland during early entry was the same as it had been on Tuesday. Characters (including Mickey) were free roaming and music from A Goofy Movie blared through speakers. It was very festive and fun!

I’d been texting with @Tony the Tigger (who claims he “never” makes rope drop) as he was nearing the park entrance. He was surprised to learn that regular park opening was 9 am and he might actually make it. We picked a meeting spot as Em and I found ourselves among the first in the queue for Haunted Mansion.

When entering the stretching room, the cast member encouraged us to get close together. “We were six feet apart for far too long. It’s time to get reacquainted!”

We did not get our ride photo but I did capture the Hatbox Ghost!

We met @Tony the Tigger just outside the Mansion.

We decided that Friday the 13th demanded a second ride. When we got to the load zone, Em declared she would ride alone so Tony and I could ride together.

It wouldn’t be our first time. That occurred on February 2, 2019.

After climbing into our doom buggy Tony turned to me and said, “I can’t believe I abandoned my husband. But look who I’m talking to!”

I would not allow his guilt make me feel bad! 🤣

I told him where the ride camera is. #Fail. (He claims his miss was intentional. 🙄)

Em never fails.

Reason #1 Tony might get kicked out of MK.

My, how you’ve aged me.

But I love that funny pic! 😆👍🏻👻

The one of me and Em is great as long as I don’t zoom in on myself. 🤣

Thank you both for getting me to the park at my earliest “convenience!” (And thanks to WDW for late checkout so I could take my time.)

I asked Tony what he wanted to do next. He waffled momentarily between Peter Pan and Tiana.

The lady won.

IMG_7194.jpeg

The line may look long (and the standby wait was posted at 30 minutes) but we waited only a little more than half that. Tony announced that he would be riding with Em.

I think it was a secret conspiracy against me.

Nearing the load zone, I found myself in front of them in line. I wasn’t worried until the cast member said, “Rows 1 and 2.”

CARP. I was certain we’d be in rows 3 and 4 - in the “no splash” section of the log. Now I was doomed. I turned and saw the looks of glee on the faces of my companions. I climbed into the front seat hoping for the best.

IMG_7196.jpeg

My blouse and arms were already soaked and we hadn’t hit bottom yet!

IMG_8703.jpeg

The wall of water washed over me and my face and hair suffered a direct hit.

IMG_7197.jpeg

Meanwhile Tony and Em laughed and said that they were “Dry-Ana!”

The things I do for the people I love.

IMG_7300.jpeg

But at least I know the difference between the men’s restroom and the women’s restroom.

IMG_7199.jpeg

Unlike Em’s log mate, who blindly followed us into the ladies room.

Reason #2 why Tony might get kicked out of MK.

For the record, the humidity was as miserable as it had been all week.

For the record, wet clothing does not dry quickly in humidity. (Nor do bathing suits and beach towels - which is why I shake my head when guests drape them across their balconies. Between the humidity of the day and the dew of the night, those items will never dry completely.)

Thus I remained a soggy sack for quite awhile. (Now I remember why Em and I returned to our resort after getting drenched on Tiana last summer!)

We passed Romeo McGrowl on the way to our next destination. He’s only been out greeting for a short time and it was a nice surprise to see him.

IMG_7200.jpeg

We stopped to pose for an obligatory castle pic….

IMG_7201.jpeg

….before taking a spin around Tomorrowland.

People seem to enjoy sticking their tongues out at me on this attraction. 🤷🏻‍♀️
