DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Most likely a table service since the land already has a large quick service next door
Disney now knows it's not on the hook for billions of dollars for buying out Hulu from Comcast.
For the company, everything's falling into place. Streaming is now profitable and that profitability is growing. Parks and DCL are going strong. EU is not a WDW killer. The ESPN cable problem is being solved through streaming integration. Broadcast and cable channels still turn a profit (tho, less and less each year, but, still profitable) and are feeding streaming with new content.
Disney now knows the billions they make each quarter can be used for the things they want. And with parks having a high RoI, it's being spent now on parks and not stretched out over years waiting for new profits. They have the money now. They're spending it. The money spout is open.

In that post I say nothing about Monsters Land being delayed. I express skepticism about Muppets in RnR and Villains. I may very well be wrong about those, but it doesn’t seem like you read other posters posts very carefully.

yeah, between this, the work on Coco at Disneyland to start earlier than initially announced, closing the boneyard earlier than their initial indication, etc - seems things have been sped up

If it follows the movie, Harryhausens will be a sushi restaurant and one nice enough one would want to impress a date at
my guess is they broaden it a bit beyond just sushi just to appeal to a broader set of guests
I think if they made it a conveyor belt sushi/dim sum restaurant that would be great and kids (and kids at heart) would have a ball with it
(also hope they drastically improve the food quality at whatever the quick service locations turns out to be compared to Rizzo's - though continue to have fun theming)

Yep. And with Monsters Inc closing at DCA early next year, we will have a period with three major attractions, and one minor attraction, under construction at the same time in the park.

there may have been some misinterpretation but there were views it was closing when it did simply to save $, so save on expenses.
Now, perhaps that always just meant ongoing operational expenses specifically as they are clearly still spending money in the area, just now on construction instead of operation - if it was just to totally save $, not spend anything there wouldn't be the activity already seen - but it seems more than that as also to start work early, making entire process easier, potentially spread out the construction cost, etc

Starting field work earlier doesn’t necessarily mean that the project itself has been sped up. Construction can start before design work is complete and this is something Disney does quite often.

I agree. And if the Avengers area of DCA is any kind of indication, I’d definitely prefer something else

Sure, I'm not making any assumptions about the project being on a fast track or opening sooner than planned. I just meant it doesn't feel as sluggish as Disney has felt in the past. Stuff is happening and "dirt is moving" which is at least nice to see.

I think this project has the unique opportunity to reopen the front courtyard before the door coaster area is ready. You’d get to bring the restaurants back sooner and a show, and probably some form of meet and greet. Would be good for customers if they did that, plus it might have the added benefit to highlighting more to come. I know I’d be excited to just see the show and restaurants the next time I visit as I’m not a coaster person. It would allow a faster ROI on part of the project. I don’t see much downside to it other than you’re not opening it all at once, but in the age of bloggers, etc. you’d get two big events rather than one - the courtyard and then the coaster.

I know this was from their earlier concept art, and none of that should be taken as Gospel Truth, but I was intrigued with the inclusion of the kid eating “monster” ice cream. I thought the idea of a dedicated ice cream parlor would be fun where Rizzo’s was. Does DHS have a dedicated ice cream spot already?
Maybe ice cream would be available at the market or a different store? I would love to see that.

yeah, Hollywood Scoops on Sunset Bvld but definitely isn't as nice as like on Main St in MK
Plus they could call the place in Monstropolis Eye Scream
