I’m all for a big coaster as long as it’s not painful. I want VelociCoaster, not Hulk. Even RnRC is rattly in the back…wish they’d switch to Hyperspace Mtn. Paris restraints.
It's likely gonna be a Vekoma or Mack (maybe Intamin but I doubt it, that's too intense for Disney). Those are glass smooth nowadays unlike an older B&M (like Hulk) or an older Vekoma (like RnRC).

An inversion or two would be great. Think it is quite unlikely it is another suspended coaster because that will be the Monster's Inc. coaster.

Edit - Something on the level between Big Bear Mountain in Dollywood OR Copperhead Strike in Carowinds is what I would expect (Copperhead strike is about the limit of intensity that I would expect Disney to go):

I had an odd day a few months back where we were at Islands in the morning and then Epcot in the afternoon. Going from Hulk (and having a splitting headache) to Cosmic Rewind (like riding smooth Jazz) was striking. I don't think I could ever ride Hulk again unless it gets retracked.

Space, for whatever reason, doesn't bother me as much.
Felt the sameway: Hulk kicked my BUTT a few weeks ago - the entire ride I had a headache.
Velocicoaster CRUSHED my GF.

We then went to Cosmic Rewind, and I was like - that was a nap! Heck even RnRC felt slow/tame after experiencing Hulk, Velocicoaster...and another one of high quality - STARDUST RACERS.

Velocicoaster (which I have ridden) and Stardust Racers (which I have not ridden yet) are two of the absolute most intense roller coasters in the world (Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa maybe THE most intene for another FL coaster). I don't expect Disney to go that far, but I think it is time for them to again push the boundaries of what they are are comfortable with on a thrill level again.

That level of attraction should probably NOT be at Disney; but, something on the ground's of Hagrids which combines story telling with a great boost of thrill - now THAT is what I want at Villains.

I don’t mind coasters as long as they properly theme them, but the TRON and Cosmic Rewind boxes definitely bother me to no end. I hope they one day revise them visually and that Monsters won’t end up another in that family. The concept for Villains at least looks like it’s planned to be integrated decently into the land, though that is obviously early broad-brushed art that is not indicative of what the final product will be.

For everyone complaining that roller coasters aren't disney enough... Disney was a pioneer with rollercoasters... first tubular steel rollercoaster, first completely indoor roller coaster, for LIM use on a roller coaster.

No one has made this complaint

People are saying they want new rides at WDW to not just disproportionally be coasters, as they have been in recent years.

I mean looking at the past 10 years seems like a good balance to me...

Coasters (3): SDD, Guardians, Tron
Boat rides (3): Frozen, Na'vi, Tiana
Simulators (2): MFSR, FOP
Dark Rides (3): ROTR, MMRR, Remy
Flat rides (1): Alien

Looking ahead: Not sure if I should count Muppets or not... is that a new ride (I count Tiana and Frozen as new rides, but not Test track as that is more of an update or retheme)
Coasters(2): Villains, and Monsters
Dark Ride(3): Indy, Encanto, Villains
Flat ride(2): Carousel, Cars attraction?
Other (1): Cars road rally

DAK has just 1 coaster. It had 2, but one was removed and no new coasters are currently announced for it. Let me again highlight this: a coaster was removed.

EPCOT has just 1 coaster, relatively new.

DHS has just 2 coasters and a new one announced.

It's MK that's the coaster hog with 5 and a sixth incoming.

So, are all the new rides disproportionally coaster?

MK goes up two coasters (TRON and Villains) while getting two or three new rides (Cars, Villains, and kiddie Cars?).
EPCOT went up one coaster, and also one new ride, Ratatouille.
DHS goes up two coasters (Slinky and Monsters) and also got A.S.S., RotR, and Falcon.
And DAK goes down one coaster while getting a dark ride (Encanto).
In total, *recently,* there's five new coasters and one removed. While, at the same time, there will be seven or eight new non-coaster rides.

I think I would only count 1 new boat ride... others are just re-skins of existing.
2 dark rides as MMRR is just a replacement for another dark ride in the same space.

Fair point... I guess in my mind Frozen, Tiana, and MMRR are new rides. I'm not sure if I consider TT 3.0 or RnRC staring the Muppets as new or not...

It’s not so much coasters (they obviously sell well and arguably some of WDW lacked them sufficiently)… it’s actually just Hollywood studios. Which is a very heavy thrill ride menu.

A coaster in a box was probably fairly low on the list for that park in terms of priorities.

Assuming the Villains coaster fills a different niche in MK like Hagrids or even a better themed/hidden velocicoaster-lite, that seems like a great variety to its menu.

The Cars thing is also a bit coaster adjacent. I very much think it hits that SDMT niche. Where people who won’t do thrill rides will tolerate it. Maybe even get tricked into slightly more than SDMT.

DHS definitely is light on like the C/D attractions or the none-headliner, whatever you want to call it

I think the shows and meet and greets are supposed to sort of play that role, but for people specifically looking for low thrill rides, not much there (no boat rides, etc)

When coasters stop being the most popular rides in each park (other than AK) they will.

Longest average wait time in 2025:

MK: 1) Tron (70), 2) Big Thunder (53) 3) 7 Dwarf (52)

EPCOT: 1) GOTG (61)

DHS: 1) SDD (63)

AK: Everest is actually 5th out of 7

Like it or not... there still isn't enough coaster supply to meet demand.
Big Thunder was open for 6 days in 2025, 4 of them them amongst the busiest park days of the year. The rest of your point is valid, but your Big Thunder stat is worthless (which should be apparent just from the fact that you have it with a longer average wait time than 7DMT).

Based on intensity, you’ve got ToT and RnRc as high thrill attractions. SDD is a family coaster. I guess some people would call it intense? Rise isn’t intense, just an exciting dark ride. Meanwhile, Alien, TSM, Runaway Railway, Smuggler’s Run, Star Tours, and a plethora of shows also fill the park. That doesn’t seem heavy on the thrill rides to me. HS just doesn’t have enough rides, so the icons of the park make you think that’s all there is.
