Can you not just “waste” a fast pass with Nemo and get in immediately to switch it to Frozen
I mean, yes it is possible to get both... however,

  • 10:01am was the average for Frozen sell out time, that means half the time it sold out before this
  • If you plan to rope drop something... doing that rope drop, then booking it to a "burner" LL by 10:00am is very possible, but isn't the smoothest easiest part of your morning.
Just as an example the 2nd most popular tier 1 (after Tiana) at MK is JC which sells out at 12:33am on average, at DHS its RNRC @ 2:06pm and AK its Kali @2:43pm which are all way easier to get that a 10:01am frozen

I don't understand why anyone would pay extra for LL after paying already exorbitant entrance fees. If everyone pushed back on this greed maybe Disney would go back to the included FP that made the price of ticket a little more palatable.
I will say, I think LLMP is still underpriced. If I'm paying $150 to get in the door, the extra $30ish dollars to go on an extra 4-5 rides throughout the day without waiting in line is a no brainer to me (except at AK).

Because it is worth it to them?

You certainly don't have to buy it, but tons of people are willing to pay money to reduce the amount of time they spend in line, and I doubt they are going to stop because someone else thinks it is a rip off.

You probably don’t understand because it’s difficult to see things from another person’s perspective.

There are many and varied reasons people have for purchasing what Disney offers. If it’s offered, there will be people who buy it.

When Disney first started selling LLs many posters said it was only a matter of time before we started paying for what used to be free FP+.

Others took the position that Disney would never go back to pre-booked rides and insulted those who said otherwise. They were wrong.

Why am I trying to make a statement by making my day unfundamentally worse by not forking over $30 when I'm already spending thousands to get there and in the parks??? Like do you hear yourself?

I'm not going to make my trips fundamentally work to send a message that will not work. This is the most visited theme park in the world and of all time as far as I know. You're trying to stop a gushing water spout with dollar store scotch tape here by what?

What's your next plan? Buy some Nikes to burn them?

No, they're not going to stop. It is a ripoff. They're used to being ripped off. People are going to do what they'll do. No matter how stupid it is. I'm done. I won't ever go there again. It's too bad because we used to love going there. We were the ultimate Disney fans. Annual Pass holders, DVC Owner's, Stockholders.
Okay, so all you need now is large numbers of people to do as you do. Very large numbers. Eventually if people stop going, Disney will change.

But calling people stupid on a WDW website is unlikely to accomplish anything.

Not to mention thousands of people would need to coordinate this boycott consistently and simultaneously to make any difference. Who’s organizing this? And who are the selfless angels sacrificing their vacation for the greater good?

I wish Soarin had stayed as a tier 1. It was easy to get a time near park opening and use it early to open up the ability to get more tier 1s. In theory with Test Track as a new Tier 1 option you could have gotten Soarin for near park opening as a prebook, scanned in before 9:30 on most days and easily be able to secure all three other rides for later in the day if it had remained a tier 1.

As you should if that is how you feel.

Personally I think it is a terrible system, just like the free version was, so I don’t pay for it. For those that find it useful, good for them, but not having it hasn’t really impacted my vacation

You are only spiting yourself. I go with no LL and just watch the app to see which rides have shorter lines. Simple.

The one time I bought a single LL was when I wanted to try a newer ride that always has a long line: Tron. I think I paid $16 or $17.

I had about an hour left before heading to the airport. The line for Tron was over an hour. It was a good thing I had purchased the LL ahead of time - I was able to ride another attraction first, and then go on Tron before heading out. So for less than $20, I got two rides, including one of the most in-demand. That was well worth it for me. Not stupid at all.

Didn't call people stupid. I said paying extra for something that was part of your admission is stupid.
Oh, so you’re saying generally smart people do stupid things.

My point still stands. You’re not likely to accomplish much by telling people they’re being stupid by buying what they decide is worthwhile to them.

Can't you just get any ride, scan in, and make a Tier 1 or am I just completely wrong? Cause then the same thing would work with SSE or Nemo?

I'm also confused to the previous posters point because like?? If they will never buy any product that used to be more value, they are going to run out of products pretty quickly due to shrinkflation

Honestly, I’m starting to think the single passes are the only thing genuinely “worth it” at WDW, perhaps with the exception of Hollywood Studios, especially if you have early entry and rides are properly functioning at park open. Pre-booking eliminated all the potential gaming of drop times, and tiering has made it so that two of your three choices are frequently worthless. FoP and TRON make some sense to secure if they’re important to you as their wait times really never drop into the reasonable range and the latter isn’t even available during early entry, but a lot of the rest feels blah, with all of the utility essentially drained of it by noon if not earlier.

You can. But as of now Soarin is the easiest one to do because most everyone wants the other tier 1s. The tier 2 return times get pushed out farther than Soarin before day of.
In this scenario you are picking Soarin as you Tier 1 seven days out and skipping Frozen & Remy, that doesn't make much sense. If anything it was always easy to get Soarin after your first LL because everyone choose Frozen and Remy first.

I am curious how Test Track will change the LL availability for Frozen & Remy

Yeah, multi-pass did not make sense to me.

If it’s someone’s one and only or first visit, sure.

We're all sort of acknowledging that multi-passes are genuinely, indisputably a rip-off, a way to claw more money from less informed guests in exchange for a worthless product. It's an utterly contemptible business practice but we're just supposed to smile and murmur, "just Disney being Disney!" I mean, that argument is how we got a lot of the garbage we have now at WDW.
