I agree, let's see if they start knocking things down.
Permits have been filed for the area, so I do expect actual work to start soon, but that is not the point, the point is there is no need to.
I agree, let's see if they start knocking things down.
What? They are going to slow played demo and building out the land is your argument when they could have waited for the door coaster to be finished?
I'll try again, my apologies for not being clear. What?
The argument is Disney closed MV3D simply for operation costs, not because it's needed. At the end of the day, why does it matter if some fans are happy or excited that construction or progress is happening? There’s nothing wrong with that!
That’s exactly the case.I'll try again, my apologies for not being clear.
Is that what you mean?
They are years away from the Door Coaster from opening.
The Door Coaster building is far enough from the MV3D theater that they could have waited to do any work in Grand Avenue. And any work that's happening now is simply "slow playing" for optics because they just wanted to close MV3D as soon as possible to avoid paying for operation expenses.
Which is exactly what happened. The argument is Disney closed MV3D simply for operation costs, not because it's needed.
Allow me to add one more "for the win" here:I'll be clear with my expectations and what I would consider a win for my POV:
1) The area has to be a hazardous zone in the near future. Let's say before Q4. (I admit I don't know how long it will take for them do the pre-stuff - that's clearly happening now FWIW - why don't you put some predictions out there? You think it will sit dormant for how long??!)
2) MV3D theater opens BEFORE Monster Door coaster is finished.
I'll eat crow if neither happen.
If I'm right, I'm coming for @peter11435, @lazyboy97o and the rest of the you here.
That’s exactly the case.
The courtyard/muppet conversion will take half to a third of the time that the construction of the primary e-ticket will take.
Nothing significant has happened in that space. Removing props and assets is not significant project work. Then why is Disney doing ANYTHING in that space then? Why don't they just wait Peter?
Doesn't answer "Why".Nothing significant has happened in that space. Removing props and assets is not significant project work.
And again like we said earlier. Work will happen now because it can, not because it needs to.
They have been super careful about capacity loss at AK because of it. Zootopia will be up before Dinosaur goes down.I think it makes sense to shut down the area and start on the whole build instead of doing it in sections.
If AK wasn't so devoid of attractions id bet that dinosaur would be down too.
Why not propose a date for when the show should open? You feel they closed Muppets to get the new show up and running as soon as humanly possible, so what date should we expect it? Zootopia will take, what, about a year? Is that reasonable?I mean that’s cop out, we know Disney takes a long time to do stuff.
They closed the land. Let’s see if there is reason why.
I will gladly eat crow if nothing happens back there. You guys won’t though, you’ll just move the goalpost.
“They didn’t need to” is the goalpost moving already.
Even if it doesn’t change the opening date?I think it makes sense to shut down the area and start on the whole build instead of doing it in sections.
Because it’s closed. They aren’t needed there anymore. Tables, chairs, benches, umbrellas, etc will be salvaged, repurposed, and reused where possible. Signs, statues, props will be claimed by various departments to be salvaged or archived. Why leave them there when the area is closed and they aren’t needed any longer.Doesn't answer "Why".
Let's presume that the Monsters Door Coaster opens in 2028.
Why don't they just start removing props and assets in 18 months then?
My timeline up a few posts. You still thinking Tariffs are going to kill all of these projects sir?Why would that
Why not propose a date for when the show should open? You feel they closed Muppets to get the new show up and running as soon as humanly possible, so what date should we expect it? Zootopia will take, what, about a year? Is that reasonable?
So how much of the announced construction gets axed when the tariffs hit?
So when they knock down Stage 1, what is the "why"? They can wait 18 months can't they?Because it’s closed. They aren’t needed there anymore. Tables, chairs, benches, umbrellas, etc will be salvaged, repurposed, and reused where possible. Signs, statues, props will be claimed by various departments to be salvaged or archived. Why leave them there when the area is closed and they aren’t needed any longer.
Again. This and other work will start because it can. Not because it needs to. They certainly don’t want to just leave it sit for a year and make it obvious it all closed for no reason.
