MK The Hall of Presidents closing for refurbishment on January 20, 2025 [Reopened June 29, 2025]

I think American Adventure does a great job and is a bit more timeless and less controversial/easier to keep likeable for all guests without conflicts... Time for this show to go, in my personal opinion.

Not because it's the show's fault, or Disney's fault, or even the politicians faults... Its the guests. Last time I went, one half of the audience cheered for a certain president, and then the other half did a louder cheer. Security started walking down and stayed in sight the rest of the show. Very uncomfortable.

Time to just move on. One can say "guests should behave better" all they want, but they won't. No sense in making that moot argument. So lets get something else now please.

Had this remained closed indefinitely, or for replacement, then come August 4 MK would have had 5 attractions down at the same time; either for refurb or replacement (Riverboat, TSI, Buzz, BTMRR and this).

Not surprised they decided to keep it open for now.
There was apparently an internal mandate from park leadership that it be open by Independence Day for capacity purposes.

I agree and also feel something "real world" fits more in World Showcase in Epcot than in MK

But do think best to get ahead of when it would close for good/major overhaul, like announce it now that this is the last version like this and prior to next election it will close or something

I don't think they're quite ready to green light a replacement right now, but I agree with others' sentiment that timing is everything. Ideal timing would be right before the start of primary season for 2028. That way they can avoid the perception of closing it due to any one particular candidate.

Or similar to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln in DL, add the Walt AA. Remove everything but the speaking Abe Lincoln. Then like DL after the initial run of Walt only, do interchangeable shows.

The stage is too large for that. I don't know for sure, but I'd wager that the HoP stage and theater is at least 3x larger than the Opera House. It would look silly to just have Walt and Lincoln.

The theater was purpose-built for a grand and physically expansive production.

Just giving an option. Walt might be better suited foe the small Walt Disney story in HS anyway.

No guest can get to MK from off property that fast.
Some of us live close enough that's not an issue. Maybe takes me 15 minutes to get to the toll booths with traffic, and 5-ish more to park. 10 minutes into the park if everything lines up... Even at rope drop.

You're talking a minimum of 30 minutes, and that's the quickest it could possibly be. Keep in mind that there's sometimes an extended queue for the monorail, and sometimes the ferry, first thing in the morning.

If news broke that the attraction was reopening today right around when the park opened, they'd have to have already been there or en route before news broke to get a video up as quickly as they did, especially considering the shows run every 30(?) minutes.

It could very easily be a coincidence and people just happen to be there. I'm pretty sure this wasn't even in the rumour mill prior to this morning about opening, so it's not like anyone could have planned for this...

Personally I was already planning on heading to MK for a final riverboat ride, so it's a diversion more than anything else for me. Today, the lack of security line, easy parking, and a quick monorail made it a bit quicker.

I don't think you could do just one figure but you could do something with all the presidents in the back and then in the middle/up front a bit the rotating stage and just have a curtain/screen or something covering the back Presidents when Walt is on

The other site appears to be first on the scene and has a video.

Considering the timing (~10:10am), this must be a video of the first, if not second show, indicating to me that they had 'reporters' swarming the attraction on the daily on the off chance it will reopen that day. No guest can get to MK from off property that fast.
They might have been there just to cover other stuff - new food item or rope drop strategy or something

Or they just hightailed it as soon as mention of it at all and pushed women and children out of the way to get on the first ferry

First look at Trump 3.0. I think it actually looks like him this time, so progress.
