I wonder where they got that building overlay. I don't see that in the comprehensive plan that was released.

I don’t think the comprehensive plan would go into that level of detail. My speculation is Disney has already submitted some preliminary (maybe final by now) site plans or building documents to either one of the cities or the District that for some reason are excluded from public disclosure, but were internally shared with the districts GIS team who just added them through their normal reviews.

My unfortunate opinion on this being back so far is that they are compensating for the fact that there is going to be a big blue box visible. I will be amazed if they theme even just the full front of the gravity building. That hasn’t been their MO.

Little lost in the sauce. So that little frame thing is going to be used for utlities? Will it be visible as you approach the show building?

Moving it back this far will hopefully allow for better sight lines from the park. It’ll be a behemoth from the parking lot but that doesn’t irritate me if it looks good within the land.

It'd be almost impossible to see the building from anywhere except its head-on entrance, which, according to artwork, is supposed to be fulled facade-ed.

Is the amount of parking being removed for this a concern? There is extra parking at the end of the lot that was used by the Starcruiser but that is no where near how much this is taking up.

They had a sign in the parking lot indicating the main lot is now cast overflow parking like a week ago.

I know they were always adjacent, but I've never seen the sign before.

Will be interesting to see what they do - as long as from inside the park you don't see a blue box I won't be upset but from walking towards it I hope that angle is at least themed

I know this isn't the concept art for plan they went with but it shows more buildings beyond it - maybe could use some cutouts with depth and forced perspective to make it looks like city goes on beyond the building

I believe the reference number for Cosmic Rewind is ONLY for the newly built building and doesn't include the original Universe of Energy building, correct? If so, it's important to note that that number doesn't include footage used for queue, load, unload, or maintenence bays which are all housed in the old UoE building. The new building for Cosmic Rewind is 100% ride experience. When considering the square footage of this building for Monsters, a fair portion will be used for that massive four load area Scare Floor load station (not to mention maintenence), so the actual portion for ride will likely be 25% to 50% the ride area used for Cosmic Rewind.

Neither of these things seem to be true…. If anything, it shows there is ample room in the area for the ride.
It's inherently way more complex and would have pushed the timeline back years: demo several buildings, relocate office workers to another site.

It also doesn't make a land (with dining and merch), that's just the doorcoaster space.
