Trip Report Tu in ‘25

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tu in ‘25

These lyrics came to mind when I thought about my trip reporting. (I also thought, Here we go AGAIN but the above sounds much more poignant.) It’s now that time of year when my Disney trips are frequent. And this Disney Senior loves sharing her visits with y’all because your engagement makes it fun!

Yes, there will be stuff that’s the same. Yes, there will be surprises (too soon for the reveals). And yes, there will be sun rises!

Spring break countdown is at 4 days.

Since this intro needs a picture, here are Tu.

Last year we’d arrived on Easter and had the brilliant idea to visit the GF to see the eggs. The lobby was mobbed and we could barely get close enough to see the detailed chocolate creations. It was very stressful and we did not stay long.

With Easter still two weeks out, we hoped we might get a better view this year.

We were pleasantly surprised to discover the absence of chaos. There were fewer Easter eggs which were contained in one area rather than spread around the lobby’s perimeter. We were able to take our time admiring the talent of the chocolatiers.

Beauty and the Beast and 101 Dalmatians.

That beauty and the beast egg is stunning! I also loved the dragon maleficent. So detailed!

I love that you're getting to enjoy your beautiful balcony view in the early morning hours before you start your busy day at the parks! What a nice surprise running into @Loco_driver and A! I would have switched lines too if I saw other attractions running during the EMH! We always ask for the middle row on Tiana's because it's supposed to be the safest for not getting soaked but on those hot, humid days, it's always welcome for sure!

It sure is taking a long time to construct the Pirates lounge. Announced in September 2023, the walls have been shifting around since spring 2024.

IMG_7002.jpeg

Sign said 10 minutes. We’ll see.

IMG_7003.jpeg

Fooled again, just like last month. Twenty-two minutes later we finally boarded.

IMG_7007.jpeg

I may have nailed the ride photo for the first time!

IMG_9816.jpeg

I overheard one of the men in front of me say, “This scene is so lame now. No pirates would be yelling for a chicken!”
(“A hen for a ten!” according to the auctioneer.)

IMG_7008.jpeg

Especially since the chickens roam everywhere. ⬇️

In addition to Disney's heartbreaking decision to remove the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island and the Steamboat, our beloved MPB will have its course shortened by two-thirds for an indeterminate amount of time due to the new construction. While that's better than its 4-year closure for TRON, it was important for Em and I to take the grand circle tour today. We agreed that the starting point had to be Main Street, so we headed in that direction.

We cut through the Emporium (for the air conditioning!) and we got trapped by a character cavalcade upon exiting.

What does one ride after the MPB?

Why the MPB 2.0 of course!

View attachment 854802

And how many times does one ride it?

View attachment 854803

Why two, of course!
I believe you meant MPB TU.0, which you of course rode tu times!
Since he did not have a shake, he ordered a hot fudge sundae for dessert. It should have come in a bigger dish! It was very difficult to eat.

I was surprised by Woody's dessert. Isn't this where you get the all-American?

And I was curious as I just saw on Disney food blog that they changed the sores dessert at regal eagle and it's now more like a cake pop... Have you tried it?
I debated MPB or MPB 2.0 for our next attraction.

2.0 it was!

You're missing golden opportunities here! MPB TU.0!
Update at 6:25 pm -

100.3!! 🥵
Disney is BRUTAL in that heat, isn't it? When E and I went in 2023, it was a real feel of 112 to 115 the whole 2nd week of our trip. It was miserable. Even after the Halloween party, it was over 100 degrees at 1:00 in the morning. You just have to modify your plans because you can't do as much in that heat.

I am super late to the party, but I finally caught up! Thank you for letting us live vicariously!

Okay, @radiorae it’s time for your help again! What album is this? (It’s color blends right in with the bricks!)
Do you know how much I love that they change this out regularly?!

And do you know how much I appreciate you pointing it out? I never would have noticed. 💕💕
the “Disco Pool Party” (the flashing neon lights with music aren’t visible in my pic.)
😳 I. Must. Experience. This. 🪩

Confirmed! Tony’s bday disco party at WL 8/31/25. Let’s goooo!! 🕺🏻
He didn’t think anyone was watching when he lifted the black vinyl cover to see what was underneath. I
Um…what was underneath?
We barely got splashed at all!
Oh, dear. You win some…

We were at the Plaza restaurant (table service). The All-American is only at the Plaza ice cream parlor (take-out). It's confusing since they share a name....I suppose because they are adjacent?

The new s'mores dessert was not available on the mobile order otherwise we would have tried it!

Thanks for reading! You had a lot to catch up with! :bookworm:

I'd be willing to make a special trip to watch it happen!
(There's a special place in my heart for this Tony too. :joyfull:)

Um…what was underneath?
only one way to find out…
It was the digital screen from the FP+ days that displayed the guest's first name (with a green arrow) after the guest tapped in on the second touch point. (Ya know, to stop the cheaters.)

We passed by free-roaming Mickey and saw Mr. Smee in front of Peter Pan.

We would later learn that these character pop-ups and loud music were part of the Cool Kids Summer promotion. Each park has special events for children and special maps geared towards kids. Em picked some up for the Tuva Tykes who’ll be taking their family vacation next month.

My Em and I are coming in October. I really hope Smee is still out and about then. He is my favorite for some reason, plus I'll have a special reason to meet him..... more on that later. 😊

From one cool kid to another - don't get your hopes up. Cool Kids Summer runs just until September 25.

Can't wait to know your special reason for meeting Smee!

Oh that makes so much more sense. I just assumed the plaza restaurant would have it too. Like beaches and Cream has the ice cream window, but we go to the restaurant and can still get awesome ice cream there. E and I always share the no way Jose. I thought the plaza restaurant would have that too... What a bummer that they don't!

It sounded like the smores dessert just moved from somewhere else to the regal eagle, so maybe it wasn't there yet when you were there.

We did not have to wait long for the locomotive to arrive at the Main Street Station.

IMG_7016.jpeg

Always love the view from up here.

IMG_7018.jpeg

Em and I were able to have a bench to ourselves. I sat on one end, she on the other.

IMG_7021.jpeg

She had a good view of the BTMRR refurbishment.

IMG_7022.jpeg

An older couple had boarded at the Frontierland Station and sat on the bench behind us. The husband was looking at wait times on the app. He said to his wife, “There’s three trains - one here, one in Fantasyland and one on Main Street.”

His wife replied, “Those are the stations!”

Hanging out under the trees on this hillside would be a dream come true for me.

Neither Em nor I felt like lunching at a counter service restaurant. I was able to book an 11:20 ADR at The Plaza.

I know what you’re thinking. Didn’t you have an awful experience on your last visit with Woody?

Indeed we did. But I was willing to roll the dice again to avoid having to eat a quick service meal.

Happily, today’s visit was the polar opposite of last month. I checked in online on our way down Main Street and immediately received the “Your table is ready,” notification - and we hadn’t even made it past Starbucks! We were seated immediately and our server was right there waiting for us.

The only downside was we were given a table next to the saloon doors. However Em was not injured 😉 and I had an entertaining view of the kitchen.

We shared the triple turkey club which was delicious (and a perfect choice on a hot day.)

IMG_7027.jpeg

Excellent extra-thick chocolate shakes for dessert.

IMG_7029.jpeg

Our server checked on us regularly, kept our water glasses filled and was prompt handling our bill. It was a delightful lunch!
