Trip Report Tu in ‘25

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tu in ‘25

These lyrics came to mind when I thought about my trip reporting. (I also thought, Here we go AGAIN but the above sounds much more poignant.) It’s now that time of year when my Disney trips are frequent. And this Disney Senior loves sharing her visits with y’all because your engagement makes it fun!

Yes, there will be stuff that’s the same. Yes, there will be surprises (too soon for the reveals). And yes, there will be sun rises!

Spring break countdown is at 4 days.

Since this intro needs a picture, here are Tu.

I have magnet envy because it seems whenever I'm able to snag one, it's a repeat of one I have which adorns my refrigerator also! Your dinner looked delicious! We gave up on waiting last year to get into the Morocco pavilion because the line was sooooo long and it wasn't moving so we decided a snack and water just wasn't worth sweltering for! It was 98 degrees here today with a feel like of 103!!! It was truly brutal outside, and I felt so bad for all the landscapers working around my house today.

You can have mine!! We all picked them up bc there was no line when we went by but I’m not one for them so it’s yours!!

We passed a man whose tee shirt caused Em to laugh out loud.

Surely not Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

We paused outside the new GEO-82 lounge as the interior lighting had caught my eye.

IMG_6952.jpeg

Neither Em nor I have a great desire to visit GEO-82 for its view. We’ve already seen it. Years ago our family was privileged to visit most of the Epcot lounges, through our Passholder status and Woody’s job. In addition to SSE, we’ve been in lounges in The Land, Wonders of Life, Mission Space, Test Track, Norway, American Adventure and thanks to @Nunu, Imagination. Very cool memories of all!

The a/c was barely working in SSE and the constant stopping made our journey through time very sluggish.

Okay, @radiorae it’s time for your help again! What album is this? (It’s color blends right in with the bricks!)

A Jungle Cruise skipper always gets a big response with the “It’s the backside of water!” joke.

Now it’s my turn.

“It’s the backside of Boots!”

IMG_6963.jpeg

(Upon second thought…no…that’s sexist. Forgive me!)

Moving right along to our future.

As much as I love Luminous, it is such a hassle to exit afterwards at park close when not staying at an Epcot resort. The timing never seems to be right either - we finish what we want to do and there is still another hour before showtime. (This was the case with Illuminations as well.)

So Em and I headed for the bus depot. We noticed construction of a new gate. I’m guessing it might be for the new DVC tower at Ft. Wilderness.

We grabbed a sweet treat from Roaring Fork once back at WL and enjoyed it while watching the “Disco Pool Party” (the flashing neon lights with music aren’t visible in my pic.)

Tuesday, June 10

I greeted the second morning of our vacation bat-free. I enjoyed my cereal with blueberries watching the Lodge “wake up” so to speak.

IMG_6913.jpeg

Our goal was to be at the Magic Kingdom in time for early entry at 8:30. We were on our way to the dock when I noticed a familiar couple walking just ahead of us. It was our old friend @Loco_driver and his lovely wife A. We knew our stays overlapped by a couple days, but what are the odds we would run into each other while waiting for the ferry?

The boat was slow in coming so we had a nice time catching up. @Loco_driver and A headed for the back and we sun worshipers chose to sit up front.

IMG_6970.jpeg

Our ferry had to yield to the giant ferry coming from the TTC. To think my kids used to zip around on water sprites in this same area reveals how safety-conscious Disney has become. (However my kids were smart enough not to get in the way of a ferryboat - or any other boat for that matter!)

IMG_6971.jpeg

We caught up with our friends after the security screening and let the tallest guy with the longest arm take the selfie.

IMG_6972.jpeg

We bid our goodbyes in Town Square, thinking our paths might cross again. Sadly, they did not.

After a restroom stop Em and I headed for Fantasyland. We love our MK mornings!

IMG_6974.jpeg

Guests are no longer held on either the Fantasyland or Tomorrowland bridges until the start of early entry. We went straight to Winnie the Pooh. The end of the line was almost at the Cheshire Cat Cafe but it wasn’t yet 8:30 and the actual queue was closed, so I wasn’t concerned.

A song from A Goofy Movie began to blast throughout Fantasyland. Em and I looked at each other with furrowed brows. This was new and different.

She held our place in line while I went to check things out. Tigger was headed towards me.

IMG_6976.jpeg

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider were across the way, as were Chip and Dale, Pluto, Tiana and Naveen. All were free roaming, stopping for autographs or a quick picture.

IMG_6978.jpeg

Meanwhile early entry had begun and 7DMT was carrying riders. But the entrance to WTP still looked like this -

IMG_6977.jpeg

I wasn’t willing to gamble our early entry time away. I met up with Em in the same spot where I’d left her and said, “Let’s go!”

There would be no Arty Pooh today.

We passed by free-roaming Mickey and saw Mr. Smee in front of Peter Pan.

We would later learn that these character pop-ups and loud music were part of the Cool Kids Summer promotion. Each park has special events for children and special maps geared towards kids. Em picked some up for the Tuva Tykes who’ll be taking their family vacation next month.

Our wait to go to Neverland was a mere 17 minutes.

Well they’ve been dying to have us!

IMG_6983.jpeg

As we moved through the queue we had to listen to a girl of about 9 complain, “I don’t wanna ride this! Stop making me ride things I don’t want to!” over and over again to her grandmother.

Then we got to hear this man (in the blue shirt) get reprimanded/publicly shamed by a cast member. He didn’t think anyone was watching when he lifted the black vinyl cover to see what was underneath. I saw him do it (twice) and apparently so did a CM.

IMG_6984.jpeg

“Sir, put the flap down, that’s not for the guests, thank you.”

What is it with people?!!

I had read a debate on another thread about Disney intentionally “hiding” the hanging corpse in the stretching room and planned to remove it. Typically these forum debates are based on hearsay and argued by people who don’t visit the parks often (or at all.)

I took it upon myself to debunk that theory.

IMG_6985.jpeg

Over the course of the week I was in both stretching rooms (there are two - one to the left of the fireplace and one to the right) and both had a visible hanging corpse.

If only I hadn’t missed the camera taking the ride photo.

I mentioned in my intro that it was HOT and sticky HUMID every day and this morning was no exception. The thought of getting wet on a log flume was actually appealing. We took the Riverwalk to get to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Two daytime pictures of our favorite place to watch Happily Ever After.

The line for Tiana’s moved quickly. We were on and off in less than 25 minutes.

Dancing Louis brings forth giggles every time!

On a day where we wouldn’t have minded getting wet, we were assigned to the back of the log. We barely got splashed at all!
