Walt Disney – A Magical Life

Also for what its worth, I could be wrong, but I fully expect a show similar to this to also come to WDW again in a effort to bring Walt back into the public consciousness.

Since it's an update One Man's Dream film followed by the animatronic, I can see WDW minimum getting the updated film. It just depends on if they want to pay for 2 animatronic Walts
Well this is Disney, so why buy one when you can get two for twice the price.

I still don’t know how I feel about this. I think Walt should be celebrated for taking deep risk of his endeavors like of Disneyland. I think the statues are enough of bringing of his likeness in the parks. But I don’t know how I feel about a company glorifying him as a character mascot. Like Chanel does with Coco Chanel.

I'm glad it comes with a dessert party (PTN and Fireworks? Vaguely tempting), because otherwise, paying that much to get to see something slightly early that will probably be a perpetual walk-on in the near future isn't it.

I’ve gone from feeling queasy about a Walt AA to being kind of excited. Really hope they pull it off.

Do we think they will eventually clone this at WDW? Or will it remain a Disneyland exclusive?

I don't see WDW doing this. They're actively closing non-LL attractions, and I just don't think this is the sort of thing they'd be interested in spending money on.

I love the idea of this as a Disneyland exclusive.

Yeah it’s hard to imagine WDW building this, or WDW guests really taking an interest. I’m optimistic this will get Disneyland guests into the Opera House.

Man Disney must be treating the reveal of the Walt AA like how movies treated important characters in films throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Such as old trailers and promotional material never showing E.T., Freddy Kruger never shown in trailers for Nightmare on Elm Street (the poster only showed his claws and eyes), and The Gremlins never showing off the titular Gremlins. People had to actually go to the movies to see what they looked like.

it’s a small theatre - the price is about right for a private group showing and imagineer panel. The dessert party is actually a surprising bonus.

We'll see. I think it will get people in there for awhile but I really don't see anything there being a long term draw, it's too far out from the rest of the park.
