I don't know about never, but I don't really see the actual value it would bring to the resort at this point. Plenty of holes to fill in the existing parks.

Much more likely DLR gets a third gate of some kind before WDW gets a fifth gate.
It’s a math question

Divide 7 by 4

Now divide 7 by 5

Which number is bigger?

Now multiply 4 by a billion or so a year

Now multiply 5 by a billion or so a year

Which number is bigger?

Keep in mind that the allowance for a 5th gate has been in the comprehensive plan since at least 2010. Inclusion in the plan means the plan "supports construction of that gate", NOT "we plan to build that gate"
“Permission to build a 5th gate” is the development equivalent of your spouses giving you a “hall pass” to shoot your shot with Margot Robbie: you technically have permission to do something that will never happen

Keep in mind: Land designated "Mixed Use" means "All of the Above" with regard to commercial, resorts, major or minor new gates, open areas, etc... Either for one of those uses or all of them together. "Mixed Use" is a joker card -- it could be anything.

When you pair "Mixed Use" on the maps with "Entertainment" (i.e., a new gate), there is *PLENTY* of space for new gates.

With EPCOT still underdeveloped and DAK and DHS very much underdeveloped, I don't see a fifth gate making any sense at all until those three parks are more fully developed.

This isn't -- as someone tried twice in this thread to intimate -- a prophecy that they'll never build a fifth gate.

It's a prophecy they won't build a fifth gate any time soon. Certainly not with the CEO job in transition. And the current projects undone for the next five years.

And zero reason to ever lift a finger on a new gate

We get a collective 1200 on our SATs here

800 on verbal and 400 on math 🤓

I was responding to a third gate in Anaheim. I agree we won't get a fifth gate in Orlando.
…oh cool…word up.

The problem with gate in Anaheim
Is it’s already a tangled 20th century mess…

They’ve have to build “multidimensional” parking garages.

People in Cali really need to dump the cars and get some rail…only 75 years or so overdue

MK is also slightly underdeveloped at present. With the pipeline including the Cars and Villains expansion, as well as a couple other things yet to be announced, I think it will finally have enough capacity to comfortably accommodate the guests it sees.

Off topic and I'm sure you were being (slightly) sarcastic, but if you've seen "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", you've actually seen the true (though stylized for the movie) story of the Los Angeles area rail system called Pacific Electric and how it was killed in favor of freeways (see Pacific Electric (Wikipedia)). This is why California Adventure has the Red Car Trolley at the front.

Their goal is absolutely not to “comfortably accommodate the guests”…it’s almost the 180 or that.

So it’s not a safe bet any of us see that reality…

I am highly, highly skeptical that a company that has substantially cut back regular operating hours in recent years, has finally chosen to operate its two existing water parks again at the same time after a multi-year abandonment of that practice, continues to have shuttered attractions/pavilions in its two most popular parks, and tends to repurpose existing attractions rather than pushing for more classic expansions of their existing parks…

…has any intention of opening a fifth gate at WDW any time soon.
